when i was about 6 or 7 and was just before new years eve, a friend of mine told me tha Santa claus was going to put my present underneath my bed and that it would be there to find it next day (his parents always did that).I looked the next morning and to my dissapointment there was nothing. I run and cried to my mum explaining her why santa claus was so unfair to me. She, with cynicm explained to me the truth and that was the time that i stop believing in all these stories.
Children are normally told that Santa won't turn up if you don't go to sleep, but I had the idea that he would turn up, and find you awake, and not give you any presents!
i used to think santa was watching me on a giant tv O_o
i used to belive in santa! i'm 9! on christmas day 2003, i got presents! i found out the truth this year.... clue #1- santa( my dad, there's no santa), used the wrapping paper my dad used for our party! ( duh! it HAS to be my dad!) clue#2- the handwriting on the gift tag was my dad's! this year, 2005, i convinced my mom to prove that there's a real santa!( like there is!)
I USED TO BELIEVE IN SANTA UNTIL ONE X-MAS I WALKED IN THE LIVING ROOM TO SEE IF SANTA WAS THERE AND CAUGHT MY DAD EATING THE COOKIES AND DRINKING THE MILK
when i heard santa deliverd the present i thought they meant he deleiverd the like how a baby is deliver
I was 9 before I realized Santa was a myth. My parents would put us to bed after feeding us lots of milk and cookies and tell us to stay awake for Santa. Of course we fell asleep. Later, at 4 or 5 in the morning, they would rush into the bedroom, wake us and get us excited enuff to rush out to see the presents all around the tree. Presents that weren't there the night before. And we would play all day and into the night, never knowing that our mom & dad were up all night wrapping presents. A really nice memory.
Charlotte-Rose's dad (see below) must have been quite picky, carving up the 'reindeer' carrots with a vegie peeler. As far as I know, my parents actually chewed on them!
They also used to write thankyou notes from Santa, for all the nice food and drink. As I got older, I wondered why the handwriting looked a lot like my dad's.
once on christmas eve night, when I was about 7, I had the most odd dream that santa snuck into my room, switched on the light and crept over to my bed. he poked me and i woke up and he started laughing maniaclly. i started to cry and i hid under my covers. from then on, i would sleep with my older sister in the next room every christmas eve.
I used to believe in Santa but on night i was looking for something in my moms room and found a lot of toys.
Then my mom came in and said they were for our relatives. It was a very bad coverup. Latter that night she told me Santa was not real
At one point, I believed that Father Christmas was evil. I mean... he's this old guy who sits kids on his knees and asks them what they want, then breaks into their house and eats their food. I thought that the presents were there to trick us, or lull us into a false sense of security...
I am 11. I most definately DO believe in Father Christmas. Ok, so most of the ones in shops and stuff aren't real and they get paid. But why would you pay someone to sit at the north pole all day? you wouldn't. When i was about 6 i heard reindeer bells on the roof, please explain that, its not like my parents are gonna get on the roof and shake some percussion bells! Some of my friends don't believe and i think thats wrong. I'm not sure if he delivers presents, but he DEFINATELY DOES exist. And a message to all those ' non-believers' , if you don't believe thats just PANTS!
I am now twelve and 2 years ago i believed in santa.
The christmas before that, i recieved bike gloves in my stocking. the next year i was at canadian tire, and i saw a pair of bike gloves on the wall. "hey dad, where'd you get those bike gloves you bought me last year??" "MEC. Why?"
"just wondering." that gave it away.
when i was little, i used to believe in santa. Then my mom would stand in front of my room and tell my dad it was ok to get all of the presents out. Thats when i found out about santa.
i used to believe that i actually saw santa one christmas eve when i went to the bathroom. and it's funny, i can still picture that memory as if it really did happen
I remember having a big argument one christmas with my friends in school trying to convince them that Father Christmas was real. I was 11 at the time and went on believing for another 2 yrs even though nobody else did. I thought it was a big sin not to believe in Father Christmas because he was actually a Saint.
Its really sweet looking back on it
when i was really young, i had curtains in my bedroom, that had clouds and aeroplanes on them, and every christmas eve i would look at them and see reindeers made out of the overlapping clouds (this was when i believed), but any other day i could never see them.
My little girl is 4 years old and we have just written a letter to Mrs & Mr Santa Claus, lol, she believes in Mrs Santa more so for some reason, its magical to see the wonder in her eyes, (I stopped believing many many years ago), but this brings it all back and now I wait to hear the bells and the jingling once again, its fantastic. Merry Christmas to you all xx
When I was a small child, I always wondered how Father Christmas knew whether or not you were naughty. My mother told me that Father Christmas knew because the Sandman tipped him off (the Sandman being the fairy that makes you fall asleep every night).
My cousin used to believe that Santa Claus would knock on your front door and leave the presents there when everyone was asleep.
