My Grandaddy once told me close your mouth when you pass by the bone yards. He also included that if you forgot? A good dose of castor oil an you could flush them spectors right on down to the treatment plant.

When I was a kid in Albuquerque NM, we lived along an irragation ditch, quite common in that city.
I was told a story about a woman who was dressed in black who walked the ditchs at night weeping and looking for her children who drowned in one of those ditchs.
If she seen you or caught you along the ditchs at night, she would take you away and keep you as a one of her own.
It was sooo scary and I actually thought I could hear her because of the way the wind blew thru the trees.

top belief!

There were Ghosts in my basement so if I had to go down there at night for some ghastly reason I would sing the Ghostbusters theme song at the top of my lungs because I figured would scare them away long enough to do whatever errand I had to do down there before running back up the stairs.

When I was little, I was terrified of the Phantom of the Opera, because I'd hear advertisements for it on the radio, and the music scared me, and I knew a phantom was a ghost. I always thought that when I was in my room alone the Phantom would come and get me.

Now... I'm a HUGE phan.

Right after I saw 13 Ghosts (I dunno if it was the old or the new version) I believed that there was a ghost girl in every bathroom, and that all ghosts were invisible unless you had 3-D goggles.

I also believed that all bathroom water was blood, but you couldn't tell unless you had 3-D goggles.

I wouldn't go to the restroom without someone standing outside the door for weeks. I even made my sister sit right outside while I was taking a shower!

i was terrified of ghosts when i was young. i thought that if i pulled my blanket all around me covered myself completely that they couldnt see me...i couldnt breath under there so i would make a little hole for my mouth and nose after a while this got tiring so i put a tent over my bed made out of my strawberry shortcake blanket. when my heater kicked off it ticked in my vent when it did that i thought it was the ghost knocking so i would pull the magic blanket over me and hope he thought i wasnt in bed

I was (and still am) obsessed with horses. So, one day my friend told me that there were spirits of horses in the blowing snow, and they were in the snow because the snow was natural, not man made. But you had to be pure of heart to be able to see them (my friend was all depressed cuz she couldnt). So these snow horses were fighting all man made buildings, against the industralization of the world. I could actually imagine horses in the snow, and I saw all kinds of things like fighting stallions and even a young native american boy.

When I was young my Grandmother helped out at...I think it was some kind of charity...called the silver chain. One night, I was waiting in a car with my older sister and I asked what the Silver Chain was. She told me it was this severed hand wrapped in a chain that crawled onto the top of your car and scratched through the roof, then it strangled you. Scared the CRAP out of me.

When I was little I used to think if you yawned when you were in bed with the lights out that ghosts would go in your mouth, so I always had to yawn with a sheet over my mouth. Oh, hey, I still do that.

When I was in elementary school there was one of those rumors going around that if you looked in the mirror and said some phrase a few times, a ghost would come out of the mirror. One of my friends told me that he did it, and that he had let the ghost go. I was afraid that the ghost would come in through my bathroom window, since it was on the loose somewhere out in the world!

I had a nightmare that my uncle was a ghost and that he was trying to kill me. So whenever I saw him I would yell "EVIL GHOSTY" And run away. If I had salt I would toss it at him thinking he would go away.

After watching the Phantom Of The opera one summer, when I was about 9, I decided that If I became a famous singer, like I had always wanted to be, I would become Christine, and this my friend, who was a boy, would be The Phantom, Erik. I don't remember who Raoul was. I got this idea from a dream I had the night after I'd watched it.
It just made me want to be a Famous Singer even more, because I wanted something exciting and fun to happen! I also thought that if I wwent near any mirrors, the Phantom would swivel it round and kidnap me! I was also convinced if I went to an Opera, which I never did anyway, the 'Opera Ghost' would come and get me! Now, I am a HIGE Phantom fan.
