My cousin, Heather told me when I was about 5-7 that there was a boogie-man living in my grandmother's fernace. I asked her "I can't see it, is the boogie-man really in there?" and she'd say "He can see you, but you can't see him." I believed this since age 10.
this is slightly embarassing,my cousin told me that there were these evil jelly like creatures that lived in the corn field by my house, and that if i went walking in the corn they would run out and bite your legs and ankles, i believed this for years and years.
When I was younger, I used to have a lot of nightmares about the flying monkeys from the wizard of oz. So much so that I convinced myself that the lived in my attic . This was backed up when I has re-occuring dreams about them ice skating in little red suits......in my attic.
I am now 30 years old and very unstable ..... ooo ooo ooo ooo
When I was about 5 or 6, I used to belive that the Borg out of Star Trek were coming to get me, but Captain Picard would always save me from them. One night though, I was sick and I saw the episode where they assimilate Captain Picard, and in my bed that night the turned me into a Borg because the Captain was gone!
(I got saved the next day by Data)
if I drew a scary picture of a monster I used to have to cover it up with something heavy, like a book, in case it came alive and wanted to get me
As a child I was afraid of the deep end of the pool. I was a great swimmer. I always swam fine in a lake that was pretty deep, but I was convinced that sharks and piranna lived in the deep end of a pool. For some reason they mysteriosly dissipered when my parents swam with me.
I belived all through my childhood (up to 15) years that monsters could only eat me if I was awake, they hid under my bed and anytime they thought I moved they would come up to see if I was awake. This led to many wet beds as I woke up when I had to pee, but I was to scared that if I moved the monsters would come.
I used to believe that unless I sang a song about the saints, monsters would get me when I went up the stairs to my room, or my parents' room. Oddly, once I was actually upsatirs, it was fine. It was just on the stairs that they could get me. The song went like this: "I love the saints! I love peter, paul, luke..." enter as many names as it took for me get upstairs! The louder I sang, the safer I was. I wonder what my parents thought!
i used 2 belive if my rear wasent coverd by the blanket that a green monser with big sharp teeth would bite off my rear end
untill i was 10
i used to beleive that if i walked out of my house at nite that a werewolf or some monster would come out and kill me so i used to alway dread it when my mom told me to go get something from the garages so i ran as fast as i could.
my mom used to tell me thatif i was bad the boogie monster would come and "gobble" me up, so i acted preety good bud one night i got in trouble and my mom was telling me how i was acting bad, of corse she forgot, but i didnt, so i went into the kitchen and made a boogie man repelent using the things used to clean booger, boogers, kinda matched boogie, and put it in a bottle, i sleped with it for a week
I live on a farm and I thought that if I went outside of my fence, trees would chase me down, and Once, my cousins told me that if I went outside of my fence at night, an old man with no legs would come out and eat me. I pictured a man lifting up the top of the silo and peeking out for little kids. Later on I thought about how he moved without any legs, and if he had a wheelchair, how could he get out of the top of the silo? Then I got daring and decided I could go outside of the fence at night, because even if that man was real, he couldn't run after me that fast without legs, or wheel fast on gravel. So i went out of the fence, and I swore I heard a loud clang, and I assumed it was the silo banging shut fast cuz he was coming, so I ran into the woods. Then I remembered...Evil Trees wanna kill me! so i just ran inside the fence, in the house, and turned all the lights on. I was home alone, to make matter worse. I backed myself into a corner so nothing could pop out behind me and I could see if something was coming. I sat there for about an hour, and I thought it was alright to get up, but as I did so, someone jiggled the door handle, and I thought it the the no legged man because it would have taken him a while to get to the door, so I sat in my corner and hoped he'd go away, but someone banged on the window, and I wet myself in the corner. I locked the doors, so my parents couldn't get in. They were laughing so hard that they didn't ground me for tinkling on their new carpet.
My mom use to tell me when I was about 4 if I didn't go to bed their was a big lion in the living room that would come and get me and it would eat me or put me in a adoption home
when i was little i told my little sister that if she turned the light of that the monsters from the dark would get her. so she would not turn out the light but my mum did and she was really scared.so scared that i came to believe my own lie so i would never turn the light out.
I used to believe if I held my breath, the scary monsters (in closets, under beds, in the basement) couldn't get me. This proved troublesome everytime I was called to dinner. i would leave my room, turn off the lights, and run like hell down the hall and the stairs, skidding into the kitchen gasping for air, I find I still hold my breath coming up from the cellar.
top belief!
When I was little, like 5, I used to believe that a flat paper thin man lived between the back of the couch and the wall. I was terrified of this man and claimed he was wearing a tophat and carried a cane.
My Mom has a porcelin doll and she is one of the larger type. I thought and still do that the doll was plotting to kill me. I had trouble going into my parents room from the day she got the doll and still now. I always check to make sure their door is closed so she can't get out. One too many Chuckie movies I guess.
I used to believe that shadows were people trying to take over the world, and as the day went on they got bigger and bigger ( for all you idiots out there that means the sun was setting)I thought shadows were trying to raise an army.
I used to beleive that bigfoot lived across the street from me.
i used to believe that if i went outside by myself for 2 long that the monkeys from the wizard of Oz would come and take me away
