I used to think everybody had outlines like cartoons or people in colouring books. I believed that until we played eye spy with my little eye in Kindergatren. I said "I spy with my little eye ... something black." I thought the outlines were black. Every 5 year old in the room thought I was an idiot.

I'm in tenth grade, and just a few weeks ago, my friends and I were talking about "History of the World Part I" (the Mel Brooks movie) and how funny it was.

I said, "It's the best Mel Brooks movie ever," to which my friend replied, "Don't you mean Mel Gibson? Isn't Mel Brooks that country singer?"

I used to think that once you turned off a tv set or radion, the shows would all pause until you turned it on again, at which time it would resume. I never really thought about how other people watched tv, though. I figured that they just would pop on the set and a sign would come up saying, "The TV is frozen at the moment, please watch again later." I thought we were really lucky that it never did that to me.

Well when I was seven I saw this ad on TV in which a Lemon drop gets converted into a real soap and a lady washes her dishes with it to get shining utensils.

And after that I wasted like 10's of Lemons by sqeezing them on the floor to try and get a Soap out !

When i was a kid i thought that there were little tiny people inside the dashboard of your car singing and anytime you changed the radio station they had to change what they were singing

When I was younger I was never allowed to watch scary movies, but we had this hamper in the middle of the hallway and fortunately enough the entrace to the hall was right there as well. When my dad would stay up late to watch scary movies I would crawl out of my bedroom and get as close to the hamper as possible to watch the movie and not get caught, and as a result of that I was afraid to sleep without a night light. I was scared Chucky was hiding under my bed and would climb out and try to stab me in the night but since I had a night light I would see his shadow and so he wouldn't attack me. I also used to think that when I went to the bathroom if the shower curtain was closed there was someone waiting to stab me so I would always check before going to the bathroom...I still do that sometimes when I use the restroom at a house I've never been to before.

When I watched the Veggie Tales theme song, I always would get mad at the writers because sweet and sour isn't a vegetable (e.g: Cauliflower, Sweet and Sour, Half an hour, Veggie Tales!) I thought they could get sued for teaching kids incorrect information.

I used to believe when they said 'no tears' shampoo for kids, they really meant no matter how much of it got in my eye, it wouldn't hurt. I believed this for only about a couple of hours. I put shampoo directly in my eye after watching that commercial.

i also used to believe that i was being watched by people in the tv, but in my case it was far more serious than JUST the tv people. as a child i suppose i was something of a conspiracy theorist, i believed that someone (the "industry", kodak, the government or some other evil force) was putting tiny cameras inside the eyes of pictures and wall posters and that they could see me as well.

my freind used to belive that if she touched the television she would get sucked in, needless to say she was terrified of having to live with barney for the rest of her life if she touched the TV

When I saw a preview of, "The Lorax" I thought the Once-Ler's cigar was a pencil. Then when I saw the full movie, I realized I was wrong. So I used to pretend that pencils were cigars and had to discontinue this gesture because it wasn't a good example for little kids.

When I was a kid, I thought that all of the music on the radio was live - that the DJs had all of these artists in the studio with them. I found out when my family was listening to the classical station and I asked my mom how big the studio must be for that whole orchestra to be playing in there.

I used to believe - when I was a child - that when advertisements on frozen foods instructed the consumers that they can find said product in their "grocer's freezer," they were saying their "grossest freezer." I wondered for years why anyone would want frozen food from a gross freezer. :-)

For some reason, I used to believe that the show X-Files was about people who put Xs on files, and animals come out of them.

I could never understand why anyone would want to be a singer or musician because they had to live at radio stations and sing their songs whenever the DJ wanted to air them....

When I was a kid, my parents took me with them to see a movie called "Breakfast At Tiffany's". When I heard them saying it's name, I thought they were saying "Breakfast Activities". It didn't turn out to be a very good movie for a kid to watch, and I didn't get much out of it. I thought it would probably have been better if it HAD been "Breakfast Activities"
