I used to believe that all the music played on the radio was played by the bands. I wondered how they fit them all into the studio!

I used to believe…

When I was a small child, I thought Ingrid Bergman and Ingmar Bergman were one and the same person. When I was told that Ingrid was a she and Ingmar was a he, I later thought that they were husband and wife. When I started becoming a foreign film fan in my teens, I finally understood that Ingmar Bergman was one of the most famous Swedish directors ever (although I've never cared for his movies) and that Ingrid Bergman was a famous Swedish-American actress. Also when I was little, somewhere along the way, I thought Candace Bergin was Ingrid and Ingmar's daughter. I also learned later that Candace wasn't at all related to Ingrid and Ingmar, who weren't related to eachother either.

I used to think EVERYTHING on tv was live, which led to thinking that every time they showed a comercial, they had to get the same actors and everything to do it over again. I thought they had to redo it everytime it was shown... this continued untill i finally asked someone, "wouldn't it be hard to make a comercial be exactly the same every time??" lol

I went to a catholic school and when i was 7 we saw "jesus of nazareth" in class. i didnt understand how they could've gotten camera crews to record jesus doing things. i thought they had a time machine to go tape all this. i didnt understand the concept of actors.

The opening sequence of Sesame street used to show all these kids running from different places to get to Sesame street. Obviously this meant that I too could join in the fun of Sesame street! I naturally assumed that, by simply running in any random direction for long enough I would just wind up on Sesame street. I was eventually found a mile and a half away form my house under a bridge, wondering where the hell Oscar the Grouch was hiding.

When I was little I used to believe that when you switch off the TV the film you were watching stops exactly there, and you can watch the rest of the film by switching on the TV again (even on the next day or so!).

I used to think that soap operas were actually called "soappoppers" and I thought they were called this because the emotions on the show were so extreme that if there were soap bubbles in the room they would break because of all the tension and raised voices!

I used to believe…

When I was little I didn't understand that TV stations only advertised their own programs, so I would get really annoyed when they'd say when a particular show was on but never mention what channel. I used to get so frustrated tuning in and going through all the channels until I found the show I wanted!

When i was in my early teens, after watching so many action movies do to with spies, secret agents and crimials. my over active imagination made me to believe that my house was bugged, that there where cameras in the mirrors and speakers recording throughout the radios, tv and phonelines. This really freaked me out that i have never gotten over this possibility and still to this day believe in this.

I used to believe…

there's this corporate building near my house which is rather plain-looking and made of brick. the name of the company, which i forget, begins with a "B" and there is a large red B before it says the name. for some reason, when i was a small child and i knew the alphabet but i couldn't read, i was convinced that this was where bert from sesame street worked. it was a paperclip factory.

I used to believe…

There is/was an ad for Gander Mountain (a sporting goods chain) in which the words "Hunt! Fish! Camp!" are chanted .... when I was young I refused to go to Gander Mountain because I misheard the chant to be "Hunt! Fish! Kill!" and I didn't want to go to a store where people were so violent and obsessed with death.

I used to believe that there was one big man in the radio and another big man in the speaker box and that the big man in the radio would tell small little men something and they would run along the wire and tell the man in the speaker box what to say or sing.

I watched movie The Ring 1 at the age of 10 and immedietly after the last shot I called everyone in my friend circle and my family and told them that I won't be here after 7 days cos I thought that as I saw that killing clip in the movie I would be dead after seven days too and at that time I was serious!

When I was about 3 or 4, I thought that a TV worked because there were little people behind the TV. So whenever I was watching Sesame Street or something, I'd look behind the TV and be confused as to why there were no people there.

I used to beleive that Big Bird's beak was made out of the same stuff birthday cake flowers were made of. Everytime I watched Sesame Street I wanted to take a bite out of his beak!

When watched the loin king on video, i used to believe that-if I broke the screen-imba & Nala would actually come out & play with me!!

I always wondered about those cooking shows. The chefs could put food in an oven, and then pull it out and they'd be cooked! I just guessed my mom was just a bad cook.
