I thought that there were microphones in TV's and when you would hear people laughing during sitcoms, it was other people who were watching the show. I would yell into the TV and try to get the other people to hear me.

I used to think Mr. Rogers lived at Target because I always saw the Target logo before/after his show.

I used to feel sorry for the kids on Sesame Street because I thought it looked like they lived in the ghetto. The city street scene with the buildings and garbage cans and lack of grassy fields, etc. was very different from the houses with land and livestock, trees, and barns that I was used to seeing.

When I was about 5, I was playing with my cousin, who was around the same age. She was convinced that Mickey Mouse did not wear gloves; his hands were in fact puffy and white.

I remember after eating crackers with Imperial margarine, looking all over the house for my crown. I saw them pop up on people's heads on the commercial.

Also after eating a Halls I wondered when the vapours would go up my nose. Another sucker of special effects.

When I was a kid, I believed our TV received the white shows, because we were a white family, and there were black shows which were broadcast to the homes of black families. When we started getting Amos n Andy, I loved it and thought we were getting to watch one of those other broadcasts.

when I was about 5 there was this commercial for Circuit City and a big plug always plugged into the top of the building. I used to think it really did that and I wanted to go by Circuit City all the time to see the giant plug.
Its only been 8 years since I believed that.

I was around 6 - 10 when my evil older sister and older twin cousins would pretend jack from Nightmare Before Christmas would call me on the phone asking for a date. It was my all time favourite movie but i would get so afraid that his girlfriend would kidnapp me in the night. They didn't give it up until i found my cousin hiding in the next room on the cordless phone. I also believed i was adopted and they were aliens with special powers.

When I was little I used to believe that when we watched TV that we were watching in on what was happening in the house next door, and I believed that the house on the end of our street couldnt watch TV because they didnt have a next door neighbor. Gosh I was a loser, lol.

When I was seven years old, I saw a commercial for the doll Baby Born. In the commercial, the girl was pouring the fake baby food packet (which was powder) into the small dish and it immedietly turned into the wet baby food (commercialism can make anything possible). That led me to believe that it was a "magic bowl" and that the powdery stuff would automatically turn moist.

I finally got the doll for Christmas and I tried this bowl thing out for myself. I was disappointed to find out that you had to add water first!
