I used to think that the laugh tracks you hear during tv shows were actual people who were watching the same show at home, and you could hear them laughing through the speakers, and they could hear me. So every once in a while I got annoyed at the laughing and yelled "SHUT UP" into the speakers.

When I was about five my older brother was taking apart a broken radio (he wanted the magnet in the speaker). When it was open I was shocked to not see "the little people inside that play all the music." In my imagination, I even knew what they looked like.

I once watched this show where they put hidden cameras around the house to see if someone was breaking the law as reported by next door neighbors. They placed their cameras inside a "blinking" alarm clock.

Everytime I see a VCR with a "blinking" 12:00, I would instantly think that someone is watching me, so I would always cover it up with something, so that they couldn't see me.

I thought that everytime somebody would watch a movie ro a reapeat of a TV show that all the actors in it would have to stop whatever they're doing and magically come together and act out the movie or show for us! I wa slike wow they must get sick of performing the same thing over and over again. Then I really confused myself when I was like "what if more than one person wants to watch the same movie at the same time"? That goes along with believing people were actually IN the TV!

Thanks to my cousin, I used to believe that Freddy Krueger (Nightmare on Elm Street) lived in his attic. I guess he was bitter because when he was little he was told JFK's ghost lived there. I bet Freddy Krueger and JFK make great roommates!

I believed that everyone in the world could watch me on t.v. if I did commercials in the mirror. I used to spend hours doing "breck girl" commercials from the age of 5 to about 10 in my bedroom mirror. My brothers still call me the breck girl and my signature move at 38 is still the "hair toss"...

The closing lines of the TV show Candid Camera "Some day, somewhere, when you least except it, Someone may step up to you and say, "Smile, you're on Candid Camera!"" made quite an impression on me because I would think I was possibly being taped for Candid Camera. I would explain what I was doing for the benefit of the TV audience as I went about my day, waiting for Alan Funt to step out and say those famous words.

My biggest fear was the Chucky doll from the Chucky movies. I always thought he was hiding in odd places in my house, like inside the toilet. I imagined that he had a group of invisible dinosaur friends who listened to everything I said and if I said the wrong "code" word, Chucky would decide to pop out of the toilet and grab me. Because of this I made my bathroom visits very short.

This is one of the first memories I can remember. I used to beleive when I was REALLY young that there were tiny little poeple in the TV acting, and when you bought or rented a VHS tape, the little people went from the tape to the TV to do the show for you.
