When I was little I used to think that they policed what you watch on TV and know who's watching what. When my family sat down to watch smokey and the bandit even though it was an ADULTS ONLY movie I thought we were gonna get in trouble with the police because I wasn't an adult
I used to believe that the people inside the tv were real. i always thought that if i broke the screen i could climb in and join my favourite tv stars. one time my dad found me with a hammer and explained to me that there wasnt people in there and that if i tried to get in i would probably die!
I used to think Superman was real. My dad showed me a picture of George Reeves from the '50s Superman show and said he was Superman and that he fought in World War II. Dad then told me that Superman retired to live in Queens, in a house right down the road from our own. He refused to take me there.

my mom brought a vcr home for the first time. i had never seen one before. she told me that it would let us watch movies on our television. she set it down on the floor in front of the tv. i ran over and looked at the back of it to see where the movie would be projected out of the vcr and onto the tv.

I always thought the Sherwin - Williams sign was an alien: the paint can was the head and the globe was its body!

When I was 3, I used to think that people were singing on a stage inside the radio.
I used to believe…
when I was around 8 or 9 years old and I saw advertisements on TV for cereals, toys, etc. I was quite annoyed with them because they paused the show that I would be watching at the time. One time, my mom had bought me Lucky Charms and I hadn't seen the commercial after a while so I thought that if you had bought the items shown on commercials, they wouldn't show the commercials anymore.

When I was fairly little, I was watching a soap opera with my mother. Back then, I used to believe that the actors and actresses could see me, so I'd start waving at the tv and I would try to uphold a conversation with them, and get angry when they didn't respond.
But my mother told me otherwise. Lol.
I used to believe that when you turned on the radio all the bands rushed to the radio station to play the music.

when I was little (about 5-6) there was a commercial that would play all the time "Cal Worthington Ford" (those of you from California, no doubt know who I'm talking about. well he would feature zoo animals in his commercials with a little jingle that went "when you need a car or truck, go see cal go see cal go see cal" well for YEARS I thought he said "pussy-cow" which in my young mind meant a fantastical animal, that was the size of a cat but looked like a cow.

My little brother used to believe that every time you watched a film, the actors/actresses had to act it every single time!

Wheni was younger i thought that my whole life was on tv and that my every move was going to be on tv so for a couple of week my mom would ask what i was doing sitting on the carpet doing absloutley no all day

I used to think that when Ernie on Sesame Street woke up and smacked, that he always woke up with a cookie in his mouth. I always wondered how I could do that.
I used to believe that cartoon characters were real creations acting in the TV set, and that non-cartoon images were created by the cartoon characters switching photographs really really fast (except for the Dukes of Hazard who used to hang out in the cramped TV because Minnie Mouse had a crush on them).
Uncanny how I got the idea of cell animation, but just got the application mixed up.
I used to believe that at the end of the world, all of the cartoon characters and puppets would be on tv, but they would all be naked and have a big party because it was the end of the world. I have *no* idea why I thought this...

As a little kid, I was very fond of Gumby, and decided that when I grew up, I wanted to be him. I even used to practise that one-footed slide he does on his show (I fell down a lot). No one told me that this wasn't a valid career option until I was 7. =)

Thinking there were gazillions of singers inside the speakers, i wondered how they would cut off when you pushed a button, and how they would know how to get louder and softer and stuff like that. I also couldnt figure out how they would know which one was supposed to sing. The thing that really puzzled me though was how they knew when to do the little ajsdkgmklfdjhlx, kfdjhg(jibberish) thing when the tapes were rewound....this was about when i was 4.
I used to believe that the choirs/singers on the radio were at the radio stations performing live. I did not know it was records/tapes/CDs being played!
