I used to believe…
When I was younger I had loads of posters of my favourite celebrities on my walls in my bedroom. When I was getting dressed I thought they were watching me, whichever way I went it seemed like their eyes were following me. I was very uncomfortable with them "watching" me so I used to get a little bit of blu-tack and stick it over their eyes and take it off when I'd finished getting dressed! It took a long time to cover them all but I think it was worth it! :-)

When I was about 7, I thought that The Wizard of Oz just went from black and white to color and back again. It wasn't until a few years later, when watching the movie again, that I realized Dorothy went over the rainbow and that's why everything is in color.
I used to beleive on commercials when they would say "you have to be 18 or older to order" that means that the kids on the actual commercial were 18 and you had to be 18 to play with the toy.

When I was little I grew up in Southern California and they used have this comercial that came on for a used car dealer and the song was (Go see Cal-Go see Cal-Go see Cal) I always thought the song was saying "Pussy Cow, Pussy Cow, Pussy Cow" LOL I could never figure out what or why he was saying that!! Years later I found out that Cal was the car salesman's name. Geeze HELLO!! The things kids hear.
I once heard some people talking about being "game savvy" I misheard it for "Game Sabby" so I thought there was some girl named Sabby who had a website where she had all these tips for video games..
I used to believe people lived in the tv. So when I was watching a movie or a tv show, I thought it was another reality coming from inside the TV. I also thought if you tried hard enough, you would get sucked into the "TV dimension". I had a crush on the character (played by Crispin Glover) George Mcfly (the young one from the 1950's) from Back to the Future, and tried to jump into the tv, but it never worked. Then one day I saw a billboard for Micheal. J. Fox's Spin City, and reliezed that people do not live in the Tv, and that they are real people.
I used to believe…
Up until I was about 12 years old, I believed adamantly that an audience lived in my bathtub. So whenever I went to the bathroom I would hold my own little talk shows, reading out of magazines, books, or even from the back of shampoo bottles!
I had already been taught that Stevie Wonder was blind by the first time that I saw him on television. I wanted to see what a blind man's eyes looked like, and honestly believed that if I got close enough to the television, that I could look behind his glasses. I was pressed up against the screen trying to see behind them for ages before I finally gave up.
I sincerely believed that a TV program would stop at the exact moment that you turned the TV off. I would turn the TV back on, and be totally confused as to why the storyline, or even worse, the entire program, had changed.

My Husband and I both tried this as kids:
There was a cartoon/movie on years ago called "Dot and the Red Kangaroo". At one part, Dot shows the Red Kanagroo how to dig up water to survive or something (I forget the plot). She did this by on clean swipe on the soil with her claws and then the water appeared. Well, we both tried the same thing upon seeing the show. He gave up after a while, but I dug down at least two feet only to find NO WATER and that my parents house was built on a rubbish dump!
I used to believe…
As soon as Bruce Banners eyes started to change I'd hide behind the couch incase the Incredible Hulk would get me.
Sometimes I'd be behind the couch for over half an hour as our regular baby-sitter would tell me that he "wasn't back to normal yet".
I sed to believe that out of work pirates lived in the TV remote and it works by them firing microscopic bullets at the buttons on the TV. This was obviously how the remote worked.
I used to believe, like alot of people, that the bands were playing live at the radio stations. One time I was listening to a song, and my mom turned to a different radio station, and then the same song was on. I was VERY confused as to how this band (whose name I forgot) could be in 2 placed at once!

When I was about four, I believed that inside the radio were several tiny men playing instruments and singing.

After seeing a Friday the 13th movie I was scared to death of anything going into my ears while I slept. I believed though that if I slept with the covers up over my ears I'd be protected from Freddy Cougar stabbing my ears with a q-tip. I still sleep like that and can't sleep unless the blanket is over my ears.
I used to see all those Halls cough drop commercials when I was a kid, and in the commercials they would simulate soothing vapors around the persons face when they ate the cough drops. Well when my Grandpa ate one I stared at him waiting to see the vapors float around his face.

When I was about 4 my sister told me on a car ride that the radio contained little people that sang and played guitar. I once stuffed some bread in the cassette player because I thought they might be hungry.

My husband believed as a child that there was a television series called "To Be Announced" and that it was just a random sort of a show, different actors, different subjects, different times.
