I spent my childhood Saturday afternoons watching a lot of old musicals on TV.

I used to believe that grownups got involved in song and dance routines as part of their day to day lives.

It used to bother me that I wouldn't know what to do if a bunch of singing and dancing strangers leapt up to me and tried to incorporate me into their number.

I consoled myself by supposing that as I got older the dance steps and the words would come to me naturally, like other grownup ways.

I used to think that whenever a song came on the radio, the person who sang the song was singing from a phone booth somewhere into the radio. I thought the radio stations called them up whenever they wanted to hear the song.

For a long time I used to believe (due to title) that "Gone with the wind" (1939) was about the people from "old times" who lost everything when tornado had destroyed their house and everything!

When watching tv in the seventies, people/animals etc that were superimposed using "special effects"(eg giant kitten on goodies) generally had a blue or orange outline. I assumed this was because they had eaten their ready brek that morning

I used to believe that it would take years to make a film that had children in it, as they would have to wait until the kids grew up.

I used to believe that all of the "circuits" (computer chips, etc.) necessary for the operation of a Nintendo game were in the game cartridge, and the console itself was simply an "adapter" that enables the game to fit into the input jack on the TV. (this was back when video games came on those weird shaped cartridges, not CDs). I wondered why they didn't redesign the game cartridges so that the part you plug in will fit into the input jack, because then you wouldn't need the console and it would save money. To solve this problem I later reasoned that there were "common circuits" that all games needed, and these were in the console, but there were other "circuits" that were specific to each game, which were on the cartridge. Later, of course, I found out that all the "circuits" are in the console, and the cartridge is just a data storage medium.

I used to think shining a flash light into the TV would make a light appear on every single persons television that was watching the same exact show. I would think it was funny because I used to annoy my family by doing that, and the thought of annoying millions of other people in the world that were watching that same TV show gave me the giggles... I was a weird child.

Quite a while ago there was an advert for R.Whites lemonade with a tune on it that had the lyrics 'I'm a secret lemonade drinker, R.Whites, R.Whites'

I thought it was 'I'm a secret liberty drinker'...makes no sense at all!

My sister told me that Jackie Chan was insane and lived in a mental asylum. They only let him out to make his movies. My sister continues to lie about things and I continue to believe her.

When I was a kid, I believed every single song on the radio was performed live at the radio station. I pictured singers and bands lined up ready to play their song. I thought when a popular song played the band had to stay at the radio station all day so they could play that song a bunch of times.

I used to believe that when people kissed on tv they actually had a little peice of glass between eachothers' lips because it would just be crazy to actually kiss someone just for a tv show. And no one could tell because glass is clear.

When I was little, my favourite movies used to be the Predator series. Now, this is coming from a 4 or 5 year old girl. But I wanted my mom to burn our copy of Beetlejuice, because it was too scary. I remember being scared to death once, because I had said Beetlejuice three times in a row, and I thought Beetlejuice would come and kill me or something. I was a very... odd child...

I used to feel really sorry for poor old Will. In every war/movie/cowboy movie I ever saw, some nasty man would shout "Fire at Will!!!"
I wondered why he would agree to appear in so many movies if he knew he was going to be shot at......

When I was little, I remember watching My Little Pony, and seeing "to be continued" on the bottom of the screen at the end of the episode. For the longest time, I really thought that "continued" was some sort of adjective for "evil" or something. Like "to be bad". I thought they were saying something about the bad guys!

I`ve got a stoopid phobia which I got after watching somekind of a spy film..

I used to believe that I can change what happens in a cartoon. When I saw the same episode and something bad was going to happen, I would yell it at the character so they would avoid it. I was always dissapointed when they "didn't listen".

I thought that my TV was a hotle for leprachauns. And when there was a show on TV that was the little people in the TV paying us with a performance. I had digital cable so i figured we must have had a five star hotel in order to have so many guests.
