When I was quite young, I use to think TB shots (for tuberculosis) were TV shots, and you got them so if you watched too much television you wouldn't get TV eyes, like in the kids' book The Boy with Square Eyes.

I used to see a lot of ads for religious counseling lines on one of the TV channels I watched as a kid. I somehow misunderstood these as offering a hotline directly to God. Not being particularly religious, I assumed these were some kind of scam in which there would be someone on the other line who would pretend to be God. I thought it very silly that people were taken in by what I thought was a very transparent hoax.

When I was really young I was obsessed with weddings, and wanted to be a wedding planner. I was always disappointed when they didn't show entire weddings in movies/tv; there would be the bride walking down the isle, and maybe the shot after the wedding. I decided that it was because, if they filmed the whole wedding, the actors would be legally married.

I used to think only super attractive people got to be actors. So I always got really confused when I was watching a movie and not everyone looked like supermodels.

Whenever the subject of the historical Titanic comes up, someone makes a joke about the death of Leonardo DiCaprio. Because of this, I used to believe that DiCaprio was the name of an actual famous person who died during the sinking of the real Titanic.

I thought this for several years, until one day I saw the poster for the movie, with DiCaprio's name on it... at which point I somehow concluded that they got a descendant of the historical DiCaprio to play him in the movie. I don't remember when I finally figured out that there was no historical DiCaprio, just the actor.

I used to believe that when music plays on the radio there are people behind the seats singing

When i was in Year 3 of School (Age of 7-8) I used to hear the phrase 'off by heart' A lot. I now know it means learning it yourself so you can remember it instantly, but then I genuinely believed that 'By heart' was a TV show that told you everything you needed to know. It really is funny when I think about it now...

I used to think, to protect the environment and prevent global warming, I couldn't have friends. I saw a webtoon, one character said he wanted to see Cars (the movie), the other said cars were "toxic little beasts, causing our planet to melt". Then I saw a McDonalds advert, telling me the movie Cars was about friends. I put 2 & 2 together.

We watched the film Arsenic and Old Lace when I was a kid, and I thought the title was "Our Snickin' Old Lace." I was annoyed that no one was able to tell me what "Snickin'" meant, so I thought maybe it was something like snickering. So I imagined the lace laughing at people.

Let me say, I was a weird kid. Besides thinking that tornadoes shot bombs, My brother wants told me that animators have to draw everything, so I thought that they had to draw every picture the second before it came up on my screen, like it was live. I tried to figure this out, and ended up with the conclusion that they had a long line of people already drawing the picture before it came up on the tv.

The first time I saw a 3D/IMAX movie my parents joked that they should release smells into the movie theatre to make it even more realistic. I thought they were serious and I was very disappointed that it didn't smell like anything when I got inside. I got even more disappointed when there really weren't any smells piped in during the movie!
