I used to believe that it took exactly one week to produce one episode of my favorite TV show, because a new episode would come out every Saturday.
Because of this, I also believed that reruns happened because one of the actors got sick or something and they weren't able to finish the episode in time for that week.

My parents told me that if you touched the cinema screen you woukld be electrocuted. This was clearly just a ploy to make me behave at the cinema, but I believed it for years, as no-one ever touched the cinema screen!

I saw Batman when I was eight. It completely freaked me out, because here was this human guy, not in any way superhuman, leaping around in tights of a night. It made me suspicious. I suspected several adults of being secret vigilantes.

I used to believe that the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz was actually a giant, bent double with an animatronic head. I do not know why.

i used to think that cartoons like "Tom and Jerry" were performed by real actors in cat and mouse suits, using speicial effects and a special camera that made it look like a drawing. i was probably like 5 or 6 when my mom explained to me how it worked for real.

When I was 7, we moved from Philadelphia to Denver. I'd seen the West on TV and thought we'd leave our car at the Colorado Border and have horses to ride to our ranch.

up until i watched "i love the 80's", i thought when people made short jokes on t.v and reffered to webster (the cute,short,t.v. charachter played by emmanuel lewis), i thought they were talking about miriam webster, the writer of all those dictionarys.

therefore i assumed miraim webster was an extremely short person..

when I was 4 or five I used to believe that canned laughter on sitcoms was your own laughter recorded from a little micro phone in the television. I didn't understand half the jokes on the shows but when that canned laughter hit I laughed along as loud as I could to make sure it made it on the program.

When I was little, KTTV Channel 11 (the Fox affiliate in Los Angeles, CA) showed reruns of "Small Wonder." I had a HUGE crush on the main character, Vicki the Robot. I used to believe that she/it was real. I even used to insist that said belief was true. But then I came clean. She/it was played by a very human girl (now almost-30-year-old woman) named Tiffany Brissette. Even to this day I remember the show's theme song by heart, but this is not the place for me to post it. You probably remember it, too.

I used to believe, after watching "The Blob" at a young age, that having nothing touch the floor (i.e.- my bed covers) would keep it from oozing onto my bed at night. That fear diminished, however, during the winters, since the Blob couldn't survive in the cold.

Do you remember how Sesame Street sponsored each show with a letter? Well, they'd say today's show was 'brought to you by... the letter B" or something similar. Until recently I thought "brought to you" was all one word like brotiued meaning sponsored by.

When I was around 6 years old my parents had an old fashioned radio, you know the ones that are the same size as a small fridge - I used to think it would only broadcast 1940's music and news!

There's this Disney movie called "The Great Mouse Detective", about how the mouse who lives in Sherlock Holmes's house is also a detective.

In the very beginning, when Fidget was about to kidnap Olivia's father, there's a shot of the door handle moving up and down, and Olivia yells "What's that?"

I used to think that she said "The satch!" and that a satch was another word for a door knob.

When I was very young (under 5), I thought the maps on the news weather reports were supposed to look like different animals. Always perturbed me when I couldn't figure out which animal.
