I used to believe…

When I younger whenever people on tv would talk in a foreign language on the news or something, I didnt realize that the person talking in english was actually translating what the other person was saying. I'd always get so upset with the tv thinking that someone was trying to interupt whoever was talking.

I used to believe…

There was a show "Sightings" that I just ate up. It seemed like they really gave footage of mysterious unexplainable phenomenon. Then they did something really stupid: they did re-runs of Sightings. After hearing that my locale was predicted to shatter via a massive earthquake into several unconnected islands last April, I couldn't really take that show seriously.

As a young child my mother used to take me and my brothers to the movies a lot...to keep us quiet she told us that the lights in the middle of the aisles were motion / noise detectors, and if we moved or talked the lights would electrocute us. I was 11 years old untill I learned the truth.

When I was younger, this girl my aunt used to baby-sit was my best friend. We were together every day. And our favorite movie was Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory. Well, I had this little swing set in my yard, and we'd find a stuffed animal that had wings, like a bird or something, and we'd write a note saying we'd were at the Chocolate Factory. We thought we could swing to a cloud and find the Chocolate Factory, and use the flying stuffed animal to get us there!

I used to believe 'To Be Announced' was a real TV show. I'd read it in the TV guide, flip to the channel and wonder why they never did show it. I believed it until I was 17 or 18, when I asked my mom about it.

When I was 5, I saw a cartoon where a 100 year old Bugs Bunny said goodbye to a 100 year old Elmer Fudd, as Elmer was tricked into a grave, whereupon Bugs buried him alive. I thought this is how people died when they were old; they climbed into a grave and were buried alive.
