When I was like 5 I thought that TV shows with real people(like Friends) were just really good animations.
I've always loved the rain. Even as a child, I loved the rain scenes on TV. I was sorely disappointed with the arse whoopin' I got when my imagination led me to believe that pouring a glass of water on the TV would induce the greatest rain scene ever.
I beleived that disney cartoon features were the only real movies, but because they were so hard to make, sometimes people had to act in movies to create a sort of cheap immitation until a new "real" movie could be produced.

Whenever my sister and I would fight, my dad would point the TV remote as us and say if we didn't shut up, he would push the mute button and we would never be able to talk again.

as a child of about 5 years old i used to think when listening to the radio and you turned ot off, when you turn it on an hour later, the programmes continued from when you turned it off. i must have been about 7 or 8 before i knew different. the worst thing about this is the fact that i can still remember an arguement regarding this with my best friend. so can he.

When I was 5, I used to watch re-runs of 60's cartoons and there was one called "Atom Ant" about an ant who had super powers. I thought his name was "Adam Ant" and it took me a while to figure out the truth.
I used to believe that when I listened to the radio, all the bands were standing around somewhere and would play when teh announcer pointed to them! Must have been a biiiiiiiiig room :D
I used to think that the people on t.v were just being tapes unaware of it - and that everyone in the world was being taped so I acted all proper all the time b/c I thought there were hidden cameras everywhere!

When I was four I wanted to watch some Saturday morning cartoon but basketball was on instead. I was so mad that I sent a letter to the TV station to complain. To make it sound more official, I signed the letter,
"Love, The King"

1 time i watched this movie, Chucky, and i totally believed that all of my dolls were going to kill me so i had to hide all of my stuffed animals under my bed in a plastic bag before i could fall asleep!
I used to believe that in movies where they showed a character as a child, the movie producers had to wait until that child grew up before they could finish making the movie so that it would be the same actor. I thought there had to be a better way of doing it!

When I read in magazines about 'adopt a whale/dolphin/third world child' I actually thought it would be sent to your home. I think I was about 12 when I finally read a whole article about it (see i had just read the title 'adopt a ...') and realised what I actually happened. I was so disappointed!

When I was little I once saw a programme about how they made cartoons. It was all about the painstakingly long hours they put into drawing each individual clip of the cartoon. Later on when I watched Neighbours I was amazed how realistic all the characters looked and thought that all the people on it were drawn. I thought all programmes didn't have real people and everything was drawn. I think it took me a few years until I learnt different.

When I was a kid of 5 or 6 I thought that the people performing on TV were performing live AND they were just waiting for me to turn the TV off so they could take a break.
I thought that Big Bird's gender was unidentifiable. I just assumed that Big Bird was both male and female. That's why I was disgusted by "hirm"*.
*hirm - pronoun used to refer to an individual who is both male and female. Contraction of "him" and "her".
