When I was yougner and I used to listen to the Top 10 of the radio station, I figured that there was a group of about 10 librarians who came up with the list. I didn't know that you had to call in and everybody's requests were tallied. haha.

The only ads I ever paid any notice to were toy commercals, which usually only advertised new toys. I believed for the longest time that only new things were advertised on television. I'll never forget the pepsi commmercial that made me realize my error...
I used to believe that when the bad guy characters on a TV show had a gunfight that they actually were shot and then just went to the hospital to get better (you would see them week after week on different shows getting shot and then appearing on another show.)

When i was about 6 or 7 in the 70's, my dad was a TV engineer so we were the first on our street to get a video recorder(old clunky V2000 if anyone remembers them). The instructional video for recording in advance showed a hand coming out of the VCR and pressing the 'record' button. Dad told me this was real but only worked if you were out of the house and being a gullible kid unused to technology i believed him! I used to set the video, go out and try and sneak a peek through the window to spot the phantom hand!

That inside the car radio were a quartet of very little men in red-and-white vertical striped suits with straw hats and canes, and they were singing (in harmony) the tunes I was hearing come out of the speaker. They were dancing too, though why I don't know, since I couldn't see them. Sometimes my invisible friend Fudda was one of them.

I used to believe that the newscaster reading the news could see me from where they were sitting so i would have to sit nicely and behave properly.
I always thought that Bill Cosby and Bing Crosby were the same person, or, more accurately, if someone said 'Bing Crosby' I assumed they meant 'Bill Cosby', but didn't know how to pronounce it properly.
I used to believe that the actors in movies had to have the same names as the characters they played. This really confused me when I saw Robin Williams in several movies, playing different characters each time. I figured he must have a LOT of twin brothers.
