I saw the film "Labyrinth" with David Bowie when i was very small. For many years afterward, I had nightmares that David Bowie (stuffed tight panes, big hair and all) would sneak up on me at night from under my bed, and that my sister and I would be kidnapped by him, except he lived right down the street.

When i saw signs for stores advertising "adult toys", i assumed they were just like regular toys, but they were only for adults because they were more breakable.

When I was a little kid listening to the radio, I was thinking that the people singing were all down at the radio station...like they all just hung around there all the time waiting for their turn to sing again. It was the time of the old top 40 format on most stations, so you heard the same old songs over and over, so that made perfect sense to me at the time. Funny, huh?

When I was little, I believed that all actors and actresses who had to kiss each other onscreen did so with the use of either special effects, wax lip covering, or didn't really kiss on the mouth (just slightly to the side of the mouth). I was convinced that they would never kiss for real.

I used to think that the eyes on the photos of people on my posters were actually cameras that the companies had put in to see what you get up to and to help the police, so I used to get dressed/undressed with my back to them! I was 11 too!

When I was growing up I adored the movie "Grease." For years and years I believed that John Travolta's name was actually Jontra Volta. I would wonder what in the world posessed his parents to name him Jontra.

Remember Buck Rogers?? There was a character who could take his head off and set it on a table. I tried for days to take my head off and couldn't understand why he could do it so easily and I couldn't...granted I was only 3 yrs. old.

You know how on car commercials in tiny print it says "professional driver, closed course" and the logo for the Volks Wagen company is "Driver's Wanted" well i always thought until i was about 15 or 16 (now I am 17) that the Volks Wagen company needed professional drivers for the closed courses on their commercials!

I used to think that The Wizard of Oz was made by Mickey Rooney (I had the 50th anniversary video and it includes footage of him presenting Judy Garland with a juvenile Oscar for Wizard of Oz; for some reason I assumed that he was the director giving an award to the actress-granted, I was about 7 years old).

I used to think that if you got up real close to the YV and looked up, down or to the side you would be able to see "around the corner" of the screen to see what was going on. I remember it took me several tries to realize this was not the case...:-)

In about 5th grade, I had several posters on my walls in my bedroom. I always thought that they could see me and were watching me. I couldn't come out of the shower and change in my room. I would have to go back to the bathroom. I get freaked out by them.

I used to believe that the television paused when I turned it off. However, one day, I swore to myself to test this, and after pre-school that day, much to my dismay, a different show was on when I turned the televison on. Why wasn't TIVO invented earlier!

I use to believe (when he was younger) that there were little people inside the TV , so he he tried to feed them by putting pizza on the TV screen and trying to put it into the VCR.

My father had (and he still does) a huge collection a videos, that he recorded himself and labelled very carefully with those he found and cut in those video magazines. And he would keep the old ones, in case he could use them again... Well, as a very little kid, I thought that the movie on the video depended on the label on the box! so one day, I changed the label of one the videos, excpecting to get my favourite musical on.... it didn't and I cried of disapointment, while my mother was looking at me, appaled to have akid obsessed with videos
