My young daughter believed for several years that the people she heard on the radio were actually IN the radio! She couldn't understand how they got in or out, but she never asked us about it!

My parents had me convinced that the Wizard of Oz went from BW to color to BW because they invented color movies after they started filming and only had a limited amount to use in each movie made so they used what they had and went back to black & white to finish it.

When I was a kid, I listened to the radio alot and believed that there were teeny tiny little people inside the radio singing. I especially amazed me that they know so many songs!

When I was 2.5, I thought that the people on the TV could feel pain. So I went to the TV screen and poked them in the eye. They didn't yelp in pain.

When Neighbours was first shown twice a day, I felt sorry for the residents in Ramsey Street for repeating their lives 4 hours later. It was only when Scott and Charlene's wedding, I realised that the show was recorded. Having the same 2 weddings on the same day must have been costly.

When i was very young in the early fifties I always associated the News with submarines. Around that period there had been some sort of submarine disaster and I must have heard my parents commenting on it.
I misheard on the radio "...and that was a submarine of the news" for "...and that was a SUMMARY of the news."

I'm not sure if this is a Canada only show (Polkadot Door), but I only 4 years ago figured out that Polkaroo was played by the other host on the show...I thought he just had terrible luck and he would always leave right before Polkaroo would come in. (by the way, I am 27)

When we were little we were only allowed to watch BBC children's programmes. My mum told us that the button to change to ITV didn't work, and we believed her! Wouldn't happen these days!

For a while there, I was convinced that one of the actors in my favourite TV Show was a long lost brother, born in between my older brother's and my births. He had the same kind of looks as us, you see. I dreamed of him turning up out of the blue with his handsome co-star (whom I am a huge fan of still) and 'rejoining' the family. I never quite puzzled out in my mind why my mother would give him up for adoption when she already had a child. The scary thing was that I was 14 at the time.

I used to believe - due to my dad and sisters that "Lassie" - the dog on the TV series was in fact a boy in a dog costume. Hmmm

For years the movie Willie Wonka and the Chocolate factory terrified me. The thought of a little kid, no matter how mean and evil getting burned in a furnace or being squeezed after turning into a giant blueberry filled me with dread. To this day, I still sort of see it as a horror movie.

When I was a kid I thought all the music played on the radio was live. I never could understand how all those bands could fit into the radio station and be ready to play their music sooooo fast. (AM radio, WIFE, Indianapolis, circa 1963)

I used to think after watching the movie Goast Busters that that the pink foamy gewy stuff that came out of the bath facet would come out of mine when I had to take a bath so I was always scared to take a bath.

Movies used to befuddle me.I couldn't figure out the amazing coincidence by which a phone would ring at precisely the right moment...or someone's lottery ticket "coincidently" just happened to be drawn.
