I used to believe that the way TV show's ratings were obtained, was that 2 guys with clipboards would go to everyone's house like the census but instead of knocking on your door they would just peer into your living room window and write down what they saw was on your tv.

I grew up in Wimbledon, home of The Wombles (a kids TV show about environmentally friendly creatures called Wombles who lived on Wimbledon Common). My mum used to take me to Wimbledon Common to look for Wombles. Being smart, I "knew" we weren't going to find walking talking Wombles. I had "figured out" they were just regular animals like squirrels. I was well into my teens when I said to her "It's a shame we never found a real Womble in the park" and she cracked up and informed me there was no such thing. I was so disappointed.

I used to think that all tv shows and movies were live. I thought there were secret video cameras set up and i thought the actors and actresses were normal people who didn't know they were being taped. It never occurred to me they were actors being filmed and edited and then put on tv. one time I saw a rerun of some show and asked my sister why the people were doing the same exact thing they've done before. she was so confused.

i used to think that when a tv show/ movie showed the younger/older version of a character, it was actually that person when they were older/younger and I wondered how they went back in time to film that part of the show

When I was little, I watched the movie "Iron Giant" and when the missile was launched, the kid said that everybody was going to die. I thought missiles actually killed everybody on Earth.

I used to believe my life was like the Truman show. One time a guy in kabuki cab got off his bike. pointed at me and said to the guy in the cab (like a bike with 2 person seat in the back) You see that guy there? When he dies everything you see here will be gone! The old guy in the cab laughed. Another one : I was in a liquor store. The manager picked up the microphone and said. "everyone in the store, I would like to say hi to Michael. They said "Hi" Michael. I put my head down. paid for the beer and left. Many store keepers know my name. Not meeting them before. What I think: They grow us in bubbles, so they can be filled with paid actors that can and do exist in other bubbles. When two believers meet, we can hear each other's instructions given to us. We are not alone. They just have a strange way of growing humans now. To MAXIMIZE PROFIT AND GROWTH.
How do they get paid anyway? With ways. The Grand "way" trading machine.

When I was little and I believed that anytime I watched a VHS, the actors were actually inside the movie, so I gave them 10 minute to get ready every time I put a VHS into the VCR

When I was little I wanted to be an actress, then I found out that when actors don't want to be on tv shows anymore they will often kill the character off, I thought this meant that they killed the actor for quitting. I then decided that I would just never quit a tv show.

I used to think gunshots and dying in movies were real. I always assumed they had paid their families a lot of money as compensation. I also taught they filmed all the movies they ever did just before they died,like just acted their part because they knew they were going to die

After watching Mary Poppins, my sister convinced my cousin and I that if we stood outside with umbrellas on a windy day, we could fly like Mary Poppins. Of course we believed her, and it was a windy day, so we grabbed our umbrellas and headed into the backyard. Nobody ended up flying. But our grandmother got a kick out of watching us.

I used to believe that I could cut open the television and touch the people there. I used to have such a fascination with hair, that I would tell myself to wait until an actor or an actress with beautiful hair would come in, then I would cut open the television and actually touch their hair.

I used to believe that if I turned off the TV it would pause the show I was watching so I could watch it later. I always got mad when I came back to find someone else had turned it on and made me miss the end of my show.

I used to believe that whenever I put a video in to my TV that all of the characters would have to perform the whole thing again and that their performance would stream directly to my house. I was really impressed that they never forgot their lines or appeared to age.

I used to think that when a film was being made, the actors had to act out the whole thing in one take. If someone said their lines wrong, the whole film would have to be redone.
