I used to believe…

This isn't me, it's something my younger brother thought:
A couple years ago, my brother said that he liked our grandma's TV, because it had a bigger screen than our one. Why was that so good? He thought that smaller-screened TVs didn't show all the picture, some of it got chopped off. He had lived about 7 years in a house that has a few various-sized TVs and never noticed that the picture got smaller on smaller TVs.

When I was little, I used to believe that when you turned the radio off, if you came back awhile later and turned it back on, the same song would still be playing...

When I was young, I used to believe that whenever you heard a song on the radio, there was a band in the booth along with the deejay playing that song.

when i was a child we had a large radio which had, what was called a magic eye on the face,i was always fascinated by this.every morning about 9 oclock a cow used to moo over this radio and mum told me if i was quick enough with an empty milk bottle i cauld hold it under the radio and get some milk.i never ever seemed to get the bottle there before the cow stopped moo'ing, kept me occupied for months.

I thought when my Mum used to watch 'Coronation Street' on TV that she was actually watching real people in their everyday lives. Which made me think English people were watching us on their TV's. Wonder where the camera's were hidden??

I remeber I used to believe that if i turned the TV set off the programme I was watching would still be there waiting for me at the exact same spot when i was allowed to watch the TV again later, rather like a video/dvd today

When I was little, they told me the "Amos and Andy" radio show was about "colored people." For a long time, I thought they were red because they were sponsered by Campbells Tomato Soup.

In the Indian fil industry, songs in movies are an absolute necessity. Background sining is therefore done by a number of background singers for the actors on camera.
When I was a kid i used to think that every actress sang exactly like Lata Mangeshkar or Asha Bhosle!

We used to have our bath right before the news was on at 6pm and so we used to get dressed in front of the TV, except for my brother who hid behind the couch so the news readers couldn't see him - the only problem was the couch sat in front of the glass siding door that our neighbours could see clearly through.

This isn't one of my child hood beliefs, but my Mum's, but when she told me, I couldn't resist but to tell the world!! When she was young, she thought that the weekly British Top 40 singles chart, was selected by HRH The Queen, depending on what records she'd been listening to that week!!!!!

I thought that when you buy a computer game that it contained a number of bonuses. By bonuses I mean special randoms items such as "power ups", health, money and weapons. As the game is played they get used up. So as the game gets older less and less bonuses appear. Thats why the game gets harder. I never played a game to the point where I had used everything included and had to buy a new copy.

In the first days of color TV, some shows were broadcast in color, while others were not. My grandparents were the only people I knew that had a color TV at the time, so it was quite a novelty for me and rather alien. When a show would be broadcast on their TV in b/w, I would tell my grandfather something was wrong. (After all, a color TV should display color at all times.) My grandfather told me each time that the set had run out of color and he would have to refill the bottles. I guess I believed that until I was nine or ten years old!

When I was growing up Melissa was not a common name so I thought I was the only Melissa to grace the planet. One day at the end of Romper Room the show's host would look straight into the camera say "good-bye" and a kid's name. One day she said "good-bye melissa". I freaked out because I thought this woman could see me. Naturally my good parents convinced me that whenever the tv was on this woman could see me and if I did anything bad she would tell my parents.

I was a little late in life getting online, and before that people on tv and magazines were always like "point your browser to www.whatever.com". I thought the browser was the modem and I thought it worked like an antennea. You'd turn it, try the address, and if it didn't work you'd have to keep turning it a little until it got the right reception and could find the page you wanted. I dreaded going onine and going through all that hassle just to visit websites.

once, when i was about 4, at a party my family had in the garden, a friend of my parents told me if i stare really hard at the tv aerial on the roof i could actually see all the Disney characters, ie Goofy and Donald Duck sitting up there. i honestly thought i could see them. it never ever occurred to me that they might not b there, and that by waving at them i would look deranged, so i carried on waving at television aerials right up until i was at least 12.

when i was about 7 i thought that whenever i flicked to a different tv channel, everyone elses tv would change too. i used to flick back and forth between channels every few seconds so as to baffle the other viewers. i was an annoying child.

My nephew, when he was 7, used to believe that websites were "gone" from his computer if he clicked on the Back buttom and they did not appear. I discovered this when I noticed that every night he would sit & try to think of all the websites he would need. Then he would visit all of them to "bring" them back on his computer.

when i was about 6, having just seen mary poppins, i believed that if i drew a picture on the floor, i could jump into it and be transported to the place in the picture. i remember standing in a friends kitchen on a rainy day making all my friends take it in turns to jump on pictures that we'd drawn and wondering why it wouldn't work
