As A Toddler: I believed TV was a RUSSIAN TRICK sent over via satelite FROM RUSSIA for the sole purpose of spying on us and I thought they saw us thru the white noise and that I could see them if I stood really close to it side ways at the corners! I was always told by my parents to stop standing so close to it and THIS verified my beliefs it was the communists tool to take over & spy on our country or why else were my folks so scared for me to stand so close to it?

As A Child: I thought watching the live moon landing when I was almost 3 on the TV set was pre-recorded and happened in the 1940s cause it was in black and white like the old TV sitcoms

When I was a young kid there used to be an advert on TV for Barrett Houses and the man would always say "The nation's second biggest house builder!". Naturally I was 110% convinced that our local house builder was THE biggest in the land. It was years later that I realised he was just a small builder who built just a few houses a year in our town.

My parents used to listen to Radio 4 whilst cooking or what have you, and I always used to try and get involved with the Seaman's Weather Forecast, which I mistook for a very long intellectual gameshow. The 'presenter' would ask 'Llandudno' whether 'South-Westerly' was 'moderate' or 'good'. I always assumed an answer never came because the contestants were busy writing them down.

I used to believe that you could only listen to 'AM' radio in the morning, and 'FM' radio at night, though i could never figure out why it was called FM radio when it was PM at night.

When I was a kid, I used to believe that the actors on tv would run from one channel to the next as you changed the channel. I guess I figured they were really little people running around inside my tv set.

As a child I watched Basil Brush regularly on Childrens Television. Years went by, the programme finished it's run and I never thought about Basil Brush again until he came up in conversation with friends. I was puzzled why they were talking about Basil Brush the fox though...I'd always thought he was a squirrel! Oh the embarrassment. Why did no one ever tell me?

When visiting my relatives in Norfolk many years ago they had a new Colour TV. The picture was really fuzzy. I complained to my dad who told me that people in Norfolk had different eyes and to them it was a perefect picture!!

I don't know where I got this, it may have been a dream (or nightmare?) that I had that I incorporated into the real world.

When I was a kid, I saw "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" on TV. As I was growing up, I could swear that there is a scene after the little girl blows up into a blueberry where the Oompaloompas come in all with spoons in their hands, poke a hole in her side and start eating the blueberry jelly inside. This memory was so real to me that even as an adult I would tell my friends that that was the scariest part of the movie for me (it was very rare for movies to scare me as a child). When my wife (now ex) bought the movie for my kids, we sat and watched it together and I said, "Oh! They must have cut that part out!" When I explained to her what part they had cut out, she thought I was soooo wierd! It was at that point that I figured out that it must have been a bad dream I had after seeing the movie.

I still believe that in movies when they show photos or pictures of a character when they were younger, the actor has to take photos of themselves all the time in case he needs them in a film.

when i was a kid i saw in a magazine a picture of some people on a ski lift. for quite a long time after that i thought that power/telephone lines were in fact chair lift lines which enabled actors who had been shrunk to get into the back of the tv set. and perform live.

I used to think tiny little people were inside my mothers radio singing to me.

As a kid, I thought that the laughing during each episode of the Flintstones were actually people watching and laughing at the screen. I wondered where they sat while watching.

I used to believe that those cartoon 'specials' (the ones where they take loads of old classic cartoons and splice them together with a couple of badly-animated new scenes to link the totally unrelated stories) were in fact brand-new, hour long cartoons I'd never seen before.

I used to believe that once the movie was over and you waited long enough, the actors would come out of the theatre exit and sign autographs.

When I was young I had a very old fashioned radio that my dad gave to me.....and I used to think that all of the music and radio dj's were being broadcast from many years ago......I didn't realise that old radios could pick up modern broadcasts?????
