I remember thinking that companies who advertized TV's on TV were silly. If you could see the commercial, obviously you didn't need a TV!

I also could never get my head around how you could "SAVE" money by buying something.

I used to believe that the laugh tracks on television shows were actually made by the people watching at home - so I had to be very quiet and not make any sound..lest I be heard by anyone out there...

I always thought the Love Boat sailed to Fantasy Island because it was on right after. Following this line of thinking, I thought Fantasy Island was a real place because I had seen the Love Boat in person!

I had a similar experience as another poster here. I was watching Sesame Street back when nobody but Big Bird (and us kids) believed in Mr. Snuffalupagus. Well, he was walking right behind Gordon once and I shouted out "he's right behind you!!!". Gordon turned to the camera (me) and replied, "did you say 'he's right behind me?''" From that day forward I never sat in front of the TV in my underwear again.

I used to believe…

As a very small child I believed that cartoons were filmed with real actors and the picture was changed to make it look different from regular television. Every time a cartoon character had his head cut off or fell off a cliff I marveled at the ingenious special effects it must have taken to film the scene without harming the actor.

I used to believe…

My five year old niece was horribly sad when her parents announced that they were moving to Kansas because she was really going to miss the colors. She had seen the Wizard of Oz for the first time a few months before and was under the impression that Kansas was in black-and-white!

I used to think that cartoon characters were real "people," and I used to tell everyone that I was going to marry Mighty Mouse. My dad liked to tease me and insist that Pearl Pureheart was going to get him first.

I used to believe…

when i was about 14 (yes i know, quite old!) i was watching the news at the dinner table and a news story comes up, as they do on the news.
this man is in hysterics (in another language) so they have another guy translating.

i thort they were talking about GORILLAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and had this mental image of goruillas taking away this man's family and wrecking his house!!!

— Sassmedia : tv

I used to belive that if I was out in the car (for example) with the radio on, that when the car was turned off when we got home, that i could turn it on when I got in the house and the song that had been on would start up from where I left off in the car.

I used to believe…

When I was a little girl I used to think that when I was listening to the radio, if the person in the next car over saw me moving my lips that they'd think I was the one on the radio singing!

— Elaynamedia : radio

i am tweleve now but when i was between the ages 4-7, i used to think that when i turned off the T.V. or radio it would be on the same movie or song as i left it.

— Anonymous Angelmedia : tv

I used to believe…

My dad used to always tell me i sat too close to the T.V. and that i watched it too much. He said that he was only telling me for my own sake so that i don't end up like the other 10% of children whose bodies rotted and turned inside-out from doing so.
