I used to think that on Wheel of Fortune, the wheel was placed above the puzzle board and Vanna White was a tiny person.

i once thought Looney Tunes was called Loric Tunes because of how I read it.

I used to believe that fly fishing was exactly as how it was shown on SpongeBob (fishing from an airplane), and even recall reading articles about it. I thought the joke was that they were fishing the sapient fishes of Bikini Bottom, not a play on words.

When I was a kid, I used to think that we were the main character of our life and everyone else were actors, just because I saw "The Truman Show".
So when I was not in the room, listened to my parents to see if they talked about their life outside of me. Once I was so convised, that I looked everywhere if they were something like cameras. When my parents arrived, my home was messy, so they scolded me. I never told them why I did that. Now fortunately I don't think that anymore

When I was young, I used to believe that the Disney princess were real. Every day, I watched a Disney movie because I really loved the Disney princess. One day, I think I was four years old, and my parents, me and others members of my family were going to Disneyland Paris. I saw a lot of princesses and I was very happy. Later, I learnt that the princess didn't exist and I was very disapointed. My parents lied to me !

When i was a child i used to think the actors really died in films.
I used to go the cinema with my familly, a character died and his was bleeding, i was very sad for him
But in the car when we returned to home, i said to my family that was very sad because the actors i liked had died, but my family said "no it's just acting" I felt very stupid !

I used to believe that sitcom stars actually lived in the cities where their shows were set - even though I knew the shows were filmed in studios. For instance, I thought Jaleel White (as Steve Urkel) lived in Chicago, while Jodie Sweetin (as Stephanie Tanner) lived in San Francisco. So, I was quite surprised to learn that these shows were actually filmed right next to each other in Los Angeles!

Early 1990s, around age 5, I assumed TV shows were created by the TV itself and were unique to each TV. I was blown away the first time I heard another kid talking about a cartoon I thought only I could watch.

There was an episode of SpongeBob where a teen girl character said "Finally, a cool place for teens to just, you know, hang out!" in a squeaky voice. I found her voice hard to understand and didn't hear the "hang out" part, so I thought she said "a cool place for teens to dispiano", and that unknown word "dispiano" meant party or something.
