As a child I believed that the music coming out of a car radio was the same age as the car. So if you drive a 55 chevy what comes out of the radio is that era's music. A newer car, newer music.

In childhood, I waited behind the theatre, after the Cinema, hoping to see the artists came out .
I used to believe that newsanchors always told the truth, kind of a legal requirement for being on TV. Then one day in the early 70s, when I was about 10, I saw an interview with Mohammed Ali. An hour or so later, Walter Chronkite paraphrased Ali completely to the opposite of what I had actually heard. I now believe one should never trust journalists.
I used to believe (because my dad told me) that at night he would take all of the little people out of the TV, I used to sneak down to have a luck, but he told me that they would only be safe to come out when I was in bed.
I used to believe that Bamber Gasgcoine was God, as my Mum had told me that God knew everything. Coincidentally, so did Bamber, as he knew all the right answers to the questions on University Challenge. With impeccable logic, it seemed that the only resolution to this theological conumdrum was that Bambi was God. He haunted my dreams for some time after this revelation.
I used to believe that Bo and Luke Duke(Dukes of Hazzard TV show) could see me through the TV. I had a huge crush on Bo and would fluff my hair, put on my best nighty, and smile into TV during the whole program. I was a bit precocious.
I used to believe that if my bedroom door were not pushed tightly against the wall, Darth Vader would have a place to lay in wait for me once my father turned my lights out.

I used to believe that people on TV adds were paid with whatever they were advertising. I always thought that the breakfast cereal people must really hate those who advertised cars
I believed that people could see you from tv. So I would stick out my tongue to see if I would get a reaction. But I would get nervous and run from the tv or turn it off quickly.

We had a car that had mechanical push buttons for selecting the station. I thought there were only five stations in the whole world. Then I discovered that if you pushed the button reeeaaaaalllll slow that you could get these secret "in-between" stations that no one knew about but me.

When I was little, only 3 or 4, like most infants, I didn't understand movies too well, or at least, what the characters were saying. So for years I seriously beleived that the oompah-loompas in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory were serial killers or something, and they were always on the other side of the Chocolate River, so you couldn't get to them. I thought that they would set up booby traps for the people's kids, and then kidnap the parents and kill them or something, and the parts that involved being in the same room with a lot of oompah-loompahs was that they were in an oompah-loompah jail touring it. They would mock the rest of the group after they kidnapped someone with scary little songs and dances, so up until I was, like, 7, I was terrified of the little buggers, and avoided the movie. Then I saw the movie and understood the words and all was better.

When I was 6 or 7, I used to think that the newscasters and other people on TV could see me through the screen. It kind of freaked me out, but when I was feeling bold I'd pull up my shirt and flash them. ;-)
I used to believe Hulk Hogan played Mrs. Doubtfire. I never really saw the movie.

My mom was sick a lot and had to stay in the hospital. I beleived that Ohura from Star Trek would visit us and have pity on us and decide to move in and be our mom...

My dad purchased our first t.v. in 1948 and he was watching Peggy Lee I stood in front of the set and he yelled for me to get out of the way. Little did he know that i thought i could look down the front of her lowcut dress and get a free peek.
I used to believe that the only funny 3 Stooges TV reruns could be seen at my house....any time I watched Moe, Larry, and Curly at any other kids house, they had less yuk-yuks and just weren't as good. 35 years later, I would just like to watch them anywhere because my wife won't let me and the kids enjoy them!
