I use to beliee that if someone got shot or lost a limb in a movie they actually did in real life.

I used to argue with my mom about bedtime because kids my age were on the TV, so obviously THEY were allowed to stay up late. It never dawned on me that the shows were not live, but rather, were recorded.

i used to believe that if i had a bigger tv, it would allow me to see the sides of the set and what was going on behind the scenes, and also that if i broke the glass of the tv, that i would be able to jump inside and be in whereever the show was playing.. so i would actually chuck stuff at the tv hoping it would break so i could climb inside... i thought this was totally normal.

I used to believe that when the t.v would say please stand by because of technical difficulties that if I stood next to the television set then I would help fix it.

I used to believe that there was an elf inside the TV changing the channels. It blew my mind when I realized that the TV still worked after bedtime, because I thought the elves would be tired.

I remember as a kid I saw an ad for the movie "The Bridges of Madison County" and I thought the whole movie was just 2 hours of pictures of bridges! Needless to say it sounded like the most boring movie ever!

I always thought that the Hulk was based of Hulk Hogan.

When I was a very small child, there was a TV drama about war called "Combat." My brothers used to watch it. I thought that they used live ammunition and actually killed the actors. But oddly, this didn't upset me. I thought anyone who was dumb enough to be an actor and die after one tv episode wasn't worth worrying about.

Our youngest daughter used to think that that all movies and TV shows started out in color and then gradually faded into black and white by the time they were old.

I used to believe that if you looked on the side of the television when the news was on, you could see the rest of the newsroom. :)

When I got my first computer the first game I played was Wolfenstein 3d. At the beginning of the game there is a menu where you select your difficulty level from 5 options. However, the menu was rather misleadingly titled "how tough are you?" because of this I thought the setting was how tough your character is I.E the game would be EASIER the higher you set it. So I would set it to the highest setting and wonder why the game was so hard!

When I was little, I would watch action movies with my dad. I used to think that people who were shot died for real, and always wondered why an actor would agree to die for the sake of a movie. I then concluded that the director must pay them millions of dollars and let them live for a little while with big houses and fancy cars so they wouldn't be sad when they had to die at filming.

When I was 3 or 4, my parents told me that everything on tv was make-believe. This later led to a couple police officers ringing the doorbell for a welfare check after I dialed 911 and promptly hung up after I realized someone had actually answered. Apparently my parents didn't consider the show Rescue 911 when telling me tv was not real.

When I was in second grade, I saw a cartoon in which the characters dug for treasure in their yard and found some. I thought it was fairly common to find buried treasure. My parents came home to me with a shovel and a hole dug in the yard.

When a grown-up is shown as a child, it was actually them, and the film took 20+ years to produce

i used to believe that every time i replayed a movie the people would have to react the whole movie; so i used to turn it off to let them rest :D
