I used to believe that the people on the radio were singing live. Not a recording, but live people singing.

Whenever I went to sporting events as a kid, I would get so confused by the different sections that the arena had. I thought that the players played individually for each different section, and I never understood that we were all watching the same game.

When I was little I believed that when they played a song on the radio the performers were actually at the radio station singing and when I turned up the volume they had to sing louder.

I used to believe that my life was a big story that a babysitting was reading to a child every night. The book had chapters according to the number of years I was old. I thought that everynight when I went to bed the child went to bed too and the book was closed.

When I was younger I remember asking my grandmother why old films were in black and white. She said that ppl used to see in black and white, now in colour and in the future we would be able to see through things. I was so excited about this!

I used to believe that when the movies or TV shows were playing, they were actually acting them out live. I was amazed at the memory power they had to do marathons, and to do their shows over again many times during the year.

When I was little I used to believe that when movies portrayed an actor in many stages life, they started filming when the actor was younger and then resumed filming when the actor was grown up.

I used to believe that bands lined up all day at radio stations to play one song...then they would pack up and move to another station...they would do this all day everyday.

I used to believe that all commercials on every channel were in English, even on the Spanish channels...until I watched it one day.

I used to believe that on films when the cast came up on the end of films 'in order of appearance' it meant how good-looking they were. I always got confused watching the hunchback of notre dame, where frolo came before phoebus!

I used to believe that, on television when it said 'Please ask for Bill payer's permission', that Bill Payer was some guy everyone used to ring up to ask for permission to do something. I used to say 'Man, Bill Payer must be annoyed with these people calling him asking can they buy things all the time.'

I used to believe that if you sat too close to the TV then your brain would melt and you would die.

I remember watching old films on TV when I was young and seeing them in black and white. I didn't know that TV used to only broadcast in black and white, and I came to the conclusion that back in the 40s and 50s, the whole world was in black and white. I had images in my head of world war 2 and everything was in black and white. I remember asking my dad one day what it was like to see colour for the first time, or when colour was invented or something like that, and he had no idea what I meant.

What's even more peculiar is that as a child I went to Sunday school and remember being read bible stories, all of which I imagined in colour. So in my child's brain, I thought that colour was around, and was then forgotten about and invented again sometime in the 60s!

When I was a child I used to believe that Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang was the most amazing movie ever - when I went back and watched the film as a teenager and realized that the entire film had been a dream sequence, my heart broke a little.

When Clinton was getting impeached, I thought they meant literally sticking him in a peach, and I imagined something along the lines of James and the Giant Peach.
