when i was young i used to believe that the people on the tv were just tiny people inside the tv, and i remember watching a documentary about something in the desert and the voice over saying the animal in question was so dehydrated that it was close to death so i very quickly poured my glass of water into the gaps at the back of the tv in a desperate attempt to save it.... i didn't get to see if it worked or not :(

When I was a child I beleived that the 'R' rating for a movie stood for 'Rude' and thats why children couldn't watch it because it had rude bits in it.
I use to think that tv was real and during commercials they would stand very still so they'd be in the same spot. And all the actors had twins that would live on another channel. And I thought they were watching me on their tvs

Well, you know that 'audience laughing' you hear when your watching a comedy? i thought that the laughing was coming from viewers at home actually watching the show, so at all the funny parts id run up to the tv and laugh as loud as i could hoping that one of my friends would hear me. [:

When I was little an aunt told me I was so cute I should do tv commecials but I said no because I didn't want to be forced to go to the tv station to do the same 30 seconds of acting over and over and over again... (I thought tv commercials were live)
I am apparently the most gullible person on earth....I used to believe that on the show "Bewitched", Samantha and her 'cousin' Serena were 2 different people. It was years before I realized Serena was just Elizabeth Montgomery in a black wig.

When I was really small I had heard about a show called "Murder She Wrote." Not knowing what the word Murder meant at the time I thought it was someone's name and that the show was about some little girl who had just learned how to write.

in the late 80s/early 90s whenever a game magazine would award a gold/silver/bronze cartridge in their reviews i would be sure to check the cartridge when i got the game to check the connectors to see what colour they were believing them to be gold, silver or bronze depending on the score the magazine gave.

When i was about 5ish, the first time i watched titanic i truly believed that Kate Winslet was the character in the story. This belief went on until i saw it a second time (god knows how much time passed) and mentioned it too my family. they all laughed, i was so mad with shame.
I used to believe that if i somehow figured out how to cut a hole in the TV while cartoons were on I would be able to reach my hand through (or maybe just step in if the hole was big enough) that I would turn into a cartoon.

This wasn't me but a work colleague, and it made me LOL. She believed that Star Wars really was filmed in space and all the flight sequences were filmed just above the Earth's atmosphere. She hadn't grasped the concept of special effects in her earlier years
I was 7 years old when I first saw Chucky, and he scared the bejeebers out of me. We lived in an apartment at the time, and I was convinced that he lived with us too. The only way to get rid of him was to keep all the lights on in all of the rooms. So I'd keep them all on, in every bathroom and closet. When my parents got home from work, they used to be really mad at me for keeping all the lights on. But hey, what's better: a lower electricity bill, or saving yourself from a fictional killer doll?
I was 3 when Star Trek: The Next Generation first aired in 1986. It came on at 7, after the 6 o'clock news. My nerdy parents stayed put after the news, so I believed that Star Trek was real, space news. I loved the space news after the boring Earth news. I was so devastated when I learned it wasn't real that the Santa Claus truth was an anticlimactic afterthought. I'm now an engineer at NASA so I think it had an effect on me...

When I was in about the second or third grade my mother always watched "soap operas" when I came back home from school she'd always have it on. For some reason I never got the name down properly. I used to believe it was called, "soap boppers."
I used to think that TV shows and movies became black and white as they got older, because people's hair went gray. I was convinced that all the TV shows I liked would go black and white eventually. For some reason, this really upset me.

When I was little, the cartoons would sometimes show the characters sneezing because of breathing pepper that was in the air. I tried it myself by inhaling some to see if it would work. I spent the next 30 minutes with a wet towel up my nose because of the stinging. And no, I never sneezed.
