I used to believe…

When I was little I used to believe that everything that happened in movies was real. Specifically in Titanic I thought Leonardo Dicaprio had actually died and I was so sad, cause I thought he was cute.

when i was young, i didnt understand the concept of film. i thought that every time you pressed play on a movie, a light went off somewhere to tell the actors someone wanted to watch the film, and that everything was live.

When I was in my kindergarten stage, they used to have these ads on TV for Twister, the game. In the ad it was called Twister the "hot spot" and had children pulling their hand away from them because the spots were hot. I was thrilled by the game and thought that it actually was a "hot spot" No need to say how disappointed I was when I pulled out the mat at kindergarten the next few weeks and realized it was cold =[

When I was little I thought that the people on tv were actually living in the tv and I wanted to figure out how to get in to play with them. My grandmother always asked for her robe when a show was on because she didn't want the stars to see her in her nightgown.

I used to believe that whenever someone was on TV they were being recorded in real time, right then and there, and transmitted to our homes over the air waves. So, when I was watching Back to the Future on one TV, and my mom was watching an interview with Michael J. Fox in the other room, it totally blew my mind. How could be in two places at once?!

When I was a kid, I used to believe that the President chose the weather forcast and called the poeple on TV to tell them his choice, if it was going to rain or not. That's how the weather girls knew what it was going to be like tomorrow.
That's what the President was for. I couldn't find any other reason for his existence. I guess I've very been very good at science... or politics ;)

I thought that cartoon characters were actually real people and that it was some sort of camera trick to change them into cartoon form on the television. So I truely thought that Fred and Wilma Flinstone were just some actors performing in front of a live studio audience.

When i was a kid i believed that the music you hear in the car radio was being played by tiny people who lived in the radio waiting for you to change the dial and if you interrupted a song to consecutively they would get angry and that's when the commercials would come on.

When I was young I used to believe that if you turned the TV off, the program you were watching would pause and you could continue watching it later, despite that I always turned on the TV to a new show.

When I was young, I believed that when Dorothy walks out of the house after the storm in "The Wizard of Oz", that was the exact moment they invented color television.

I used to think the message on some TV shows that said "Viewer discretion advised" meant you were supposed to be discreet about it and not tell anyone you watched it.

When I was a kid I used to think the people on Sesame Street were really in my TV and if I broke the glass I could crawl in and join them and have fun. I never tried though.

I used to believe that Jane Jetson was supposed to be an alien. After all, she had those weird musk-ox-like horns!

I didn't realize until I was about 28 that those "horns" were just supposed to be her hair. Duh.

She was WAY more interesting when she was an alien!

When I was 10 (I'm 13 now.) I thought that the cartoon characters were living inside the tv and the comics characters living inside my bookcase. And in the middle of the night, they would get outside of the tv and bookcase and meet up. So when I was sleeping, I thought Jughead, Nester, and Firestar were probably causing mischeif in the house. I was a weird child, I know.

when I was younger i took for granted that judge judy was not a real person. When I was in kindergarten i found out that she was actually real, and told all my friends who were also very surprised.
