I used to believe…

When I was six my mom and I were watching a movie where the lead character might die. My mom said, "Don't worry, he won't die because he's the star of the movie and they never kill the star." I really thought that actors get killed in real life when their character is killed off. I tried to reason with myself about why they would want to be in a movie if they were going to die. I figured it was just for the money for their family.

I used to believe that when you were watching T.V.
when you changed the channel what ever was going on the channel you used to be watching froze. I know better now.

I believed the President was actually doing KIA commercials on my local radio station. This was in the 90's when Clinton was in, but now my nieces think Obama is doing them!

I thought that "To be announced" was the actual name of a show. When scrolling through the channel listings, it would always say "To be announced" by a lot of the news channels so I just assumed it was news show.

I used to believe the Snuggle bear was real and wanted him to visit me, just like he did the kids on TV. I used to beg my Dad to buy Snuggle just so I'd get a visit from the Snuggle bear. Alas, he never bought it, and I never got a visit from my fun, cuddly pal. I used to get so upset that Dad was taking away my chance at meeting the Snuggle bear in real life!

I used to believe that when television shows and movies had people getting married, that they could not have a full wedding ceremony because if they did, they would really be married- ridiculous!

I use to believe that in movies or TV shows when a character died as a result of a car accident, shooting, falling... whatever that the stunt people working on the show ACTUALLY died. I kept trying to figure out how much money their families must be getting paid so that the stunt person can DIE on this TV show/movie...

I used to believe that they used convicts as bad guys in action movies and the stars actually shot/threw them off buildings/punched/killed them.

I use to believe that when a movie stated "5 years later" it meant they waited 5 years to continue filming.

I used to believe that people really got killed in movies and on television. I didn't understand why they would give up their lives for the sake of entertainment.

I used to believe that it was against the law to see a sequel to a movie without seeing the first one.

I was about 11 or 12 years old when I finally got to go to Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida. It was only then that I discovered that the 'ACME' Hole-in-the-walls from cartoons, and particularly the film 'Who framed roger rabbit' were not available for purchase!

When i was little my family had a big old tv. The color on the tv used to go in and out all the time, well one day my little brother who must have been around 5 at the time asked me why this kept happening and since i know everything i told him the the stratocumulonimbus clouds in the sky sucked all the color out of the tv. he believed me for years..then we got a new tv and it no longer happened

When I was little, I used to believe that characters from a TV show (like Dragon Tales) were actually performing the episode live inside my TV!

this belief is not mine but my sisters (she is 5) when she discovered that our mom was cooking lasagna,she said "yuck, im not eating cat food!" when asked why she reffered to a Garfield movie she had watched !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to believe that when they played songs on the radio, the bands actually played in the radio studio. I always wondered how they could so quickly set up for and start the next song.
