There is a part in the Gremlins movie when they are messing with the tv and in the film it goes all fuzzy like it's been disconnected for a while only i thought it was real when i was younger and got really scared

i used to have very strange beliefs. i used to think that everybody could read my mind and all the people on t.v. were actually real people who got sucked in and had to stay there and act for the rest of their lives! i also remember i used to watch a show called "buffy the vampire slayer"(and i still do) and i would actually believe i was a real vampire from that show and would act really evil and my parents almost took me to therapy because they thought i was possessed!!

I used to believe that my dog had video cameras implanted in her eyes and that every spot little on the wall or ceiling was also a camera or a secret hole through which my parents could spy on me. I'm not sure whether I actually believed this or whether it was merely my imagination at work, but I was alway cautious not to do anything "bad" in front of my dog.

I used to believe…

When I was young and watched reruns of my favorite children's programs, I used to believe that each show was filmed over and over again and that every show was live. I was amazed at how the actors could say the same exact things and make the same exact movements for each show.

When I was litte l believed that the ''backgroundlaughter'' on certain comedy shows was actually because the tv recorded the laughing from people sitting and watching the show.
So I also tried it; I put my mouth close to the speakers from the telly and laugh very hard, hoping that it would be heard on the show. Crazy.

When I was very young, whenever I would watch a video, there would be this nagging worry in the back of my mind that I was inconveniencing the actors by making them come over and act out the movie all over again.

My family and I were stranded in Delaware when our international flight was canceled. My parents took my brother (age 6) and me (age 8) to the movies...they picked Pretty Woman, not knowing what it was about. I thought throughout the whole movie that Julia Roberts was Richard Gere's secretary. Needless to say that when I grew up and realized what she really was, I was shocked!

Apparantly, I used to think there was a 'lion' in the 'Eastenders' map at the beggining of the show.

My mum says I used to scream 'LION! LION!!' Even though they could never see what I was talking about.

No idea either, looking at it now (though it could have been my early TV critic trying to tell my parents that Eastenders is the worst soap ever written).

When I was about 6 and my little brother was 4 we liked to play make-believe. On of our favorite things to play was Batman and Robin. We didn't know much background behind Batman and Robin because our mom thought it was too violent of a show for us to watch. Our favorite thing to act out was a wedding ceremony in which Batman and Robin would wed. We didn't realize that Robin was a boy...

dont you ever wonder how portrait paintings look as if they can follow you with their eyes no matter where you position yourself in a room? same with photographs. when we visit museums it would take us 6 hours max. i used to test this idea with EVERY painting in the museum.

i used to believe television was just another window in our house. i used to talk to the tv. i thought sesame streeet characters were just my neighbors. i was so proud. somehow, i felt that they dont hear me or they dont care what i say, so i shout to them sometimes. i was so disappointed when i got to visit my cousins. "they're your neighbors too?!"
