I used to believe…

When I was 4 or 5 I used to think the scooby doo monsters would jump out of the tv and chase me around my house!!!!!

I was excited for my 10th birthday because that's the age Ash Ketchem became a pokemon trainer. After that fantasy I rebounded with 11 because that's when Harry Potter got the Hogwarts letter from the owl.

I believed that old movies from the 30s and 40s were filmed in black and white because color hadn't been invented yet. However, the movie The Wizard Of Oz confused me cause it was both in color and black and white. So I came to the conclusion that they had known that color was about to be invented so they filmed the black and white scenes first (which actually was filmed in sepia tone) and then filmed the color scenes after it was invented. What confirmed my beliefs further that color didn't exist back then was the the Wizard Of Oz book describes Kansas as having no color.

I watched a show on urban legends once, and one of the stories mentioned was about a hotel that equiped all of its bathrooms with "see-through" mirrors (the mirrors that are actually windows) and that people were watching on the other side. However, I thought an urban legend was defined as a real event at the time, so whenever I stayed in a hotel, I avoided going to the bathroom and was sly when taking a shower because I was afraid people could see me through the mirror.

I used to believe…

My mom used to watch the television programs about criminals all the time when I was younger, so I decided that I should try watching them too. Every time I saw a reenactment of a crime, I thought someone had actually caught the original criminal in the act and filmed it. I always wondered why that person couldn't have just called the police....

I used to believe…

Thanks to my sister, I used to believe that babies saw everything upside-down. Every time we were watching television, my sister would insist that I watch it upside-down so that I could see life through a baby's eyes. And so that's what I did.

When I was very young and watched Sesame Street, I thought Sesame Street was a real street in my city that I could go to. When My mom and I were out driving around I would look at each street we passed to see if I could see Big Bird and Oscar and the whole crew. I really wanted to go hang out with them.

When I just turned 5 I was looking at the TV guide to see when my favourite cartoons were going to be on. When I saw "for unders 5's" in the TV guide next to my favourite cartoon I ran crying to my mum. When she asked what was wrong i said "I cant watch my cartoons anymore because I am 5. haha

I used to believe…

When I was five and Lion King obsessed, I REFUSED to believe that Mufasa was dead, and I thought grown Simba was Mufasa, and grown Nala was Serabi (or whatever I forgot her name) and the rest of the plot was Simba got lost and they were looking for him, so at the end I thought Kiara was Simba. And I also thought Simba had dreamed the entire thing. (What?)

All this just 'cause I didn't want Simba's dad to die. AREN'T I NICE?

I watched Beetlejuice when I was little and I thought Michael Keaton really looked like that. I wanted to find another movie he was in to see if he really looked like that.

I actually believed the movie E.T was real when i was like 5, and thought alien ships landed on Earth all the time. Freaked me out for years. Now even as an adult any alien movie is too much. yes i know E.T was friendly..still freaky. sorry.

I used to think that when you won the lottery the big, sparkly hand from the advert really did come out of the sky and say "it's YOU!". So when we bought a ticket, if it hadn't come out and pointed at us within five minutes I predicted that we hadn't won anything. I was never proven wrong, so I believed it for years.
