When I was a little I thought TV was full of tiny books and we would watch one every day

When I was young I thought that if you bought a product that was advertised on TV, that they would stop sending the ads, so you wouldn't see them anymore between shows.

When I was playing car racing games and stuff I used to think that they were people somewhere else. If I crashed and re-started I would always think how pissed off they would be and wondered why they didn't re-start when they crashed!

When I was around eight, I believed that all of the television channels existed inside the TV set like pages in a book, and if you flipped between them you were flipping the pages.

While watching cartoons I would spend a great amount of time looking for the strings that moved the characters, thinking they were puppets.

When I was young, when I watched an episode of Pink Panther, I saw him fall through the end of the up escalator into a room filled with toys, little cars like the shriners drive in parades, and other fun stuff. So I thought that at the end of the up escalators, If you could get sucked in, you would end up in that same room. So at the end of every escalator I went on, I would make sure to try to fall through the end.

When I was little my mom would always have the radio tuned to the country station in the car. Because there was always a song playing, I thought that every singer was in a studio somewhere, with a little box at their feet with hundreds of little lights on it. If a light was green, it meant someone had the radio on somewhere, and the person knew to keep playing/singing. I always imagined country stars hanging out between songs, sleeping propped up on a bench in a tiny hallway, with a hat over their eyes and a guitar in their laps, just waiting for their turn to sing again.
I used to believe the people on television (in the 50s) when I was a little kid were live and if you broke the screen open, you could pull them out

When I was a child, I used to believe a little person lived on my TV. And I wanted to have one.

When I was around eight or nine years old, I always used to hang out with my "favorite" cousin who was three years older than me.
One night, my cousin, his friend, and I were outside of his house playing around and talking when suddenly his friend called me a "fag". Being older than me and trying to act cool, they wouldn't tell me what it meant. A few minutes later, they told me that the "Candyman" (from the popular horror film) would get me. Being absolutely terrified, I ran in the house to my mom.
"Mom! The Candyman is going to get me! Does he only come after fags?" I was terrified.
Looking back at that now, mom probably laughed about that with her friends for hours after I went to bed - knowing that I was safe from the Candyman because I wasn't a fag.

My mom and I were watching country music videos when I was little. Hank Williams JR. cussed in a song, and I walked up to the TV and started hitting the screen. I thought he was inside the TV, and I was giving him a spanking for cussing.
i remember when i was maybe 6 or 7, i got really sick, and i had a really high fever so i woke up at like 3 or 4 in the morning with my mom and we just watched tv, then i asked "don't those people get tired? they act the whole day, even at 4 in the morning!?" lol
in other words i believed that the people on tv were always live and acting whenever you turned it on...
I used to think the local newcasters could see me, so my mom would put on the news when she had to do house work, because I behaved myself, in fear that the newspeople would tell on me.
I used to believe that if I threw a tennis ball at my Tv screen it would break it and I could crawl inside and go into my favourite tv show and be part of it, playing with the characters and everything.

When I was about six years old, I loved the Disney World characters. But I had a dream afterwards. The dream was about the chracters coming to kill me, so I was terriefied of them and still a little creeped ot that there is a actuall person under there. And I'm almost 14!

When I was about three or four, I heard a commercial on the radio. It was one of those annoying car commercials where they say something like, no matter how bad your credit is, they'll always say yes. I thought this was the funniest thing I had ever heard, because every time the woman said yes, my little-kid brain heard yep. At one point, she said, "Yes, definitely yes," but I heard, "Yep, yeppity yep." I went around saying that for awile, and I would crack up. I was disappointed when I finally figured out what they were saying. I like my version better.

When we were younger, both my sister and I thought that Mr. T. was saying "I'm pinny the po fu. Don't eat my cereal". He was not saying that, rather he was saying "I pity the poor fool who don't eat my cereal."

When I was younger, I thought that the jingle for the Chevy commercials was "lagger up". I now know that they were saying "like a rock".
