I used to believe that all the actors on tv "lived" on the show, rather than just playing a part...it wasnt until one day, i asked my mom why an actor moved from his house, because I saw him on a different show...she set me strait while laughing at me...i was still confused for a few years after that.

when i was little i believed that everything that was on tv was live and the actors just kept repeating the same things every day and that they could see me!

I used to believe that Wombles (from the show 'Wombles of Wimbledon Common' - all you Brits should be familiar!) were real.
Now, I was a smart kid; I didn't think that Wombles really went around in clothes and talked and so on. But I thought that they were real creatures on which the show had been based.
We lived in Wimbledon at the time, and my mum would often take me to the Common to look for 'Wombles'. She was of course just playing along with the belief that real Wombles in clothes and hats were cleaning up the park. However, I was deadly serious about finding a 'real' Womble, which I imagined was a small scurrying mammal.
My mum was very amused when, at 18, I was talking about how we'd never seen an actual Womble at the Common in all those years. I was actually pretty saddened to learn there was no such thing.

Have you ever seen the "concerned children's advertisers" commercial about house hippos? I saw it and for a long time belived house hippos were real. I always wanted to pet one, they're so cute and small. :)

When I was 5, I used to think the people on the Cosby Show were a real family. Then one day I asked, "Why can't be we on TV too? And who are the people whose names keep coming on when the show starts?" and my aunt said, "TV isn't real, they're pretending". That changed my world, since up to that point I thought EVERYTHING on TV was real.

My dad was a handy-man, construction worker, and mechanic. Because he was always fixing things around the house and working on projects like re-building motorbikes, I thought he could build ANYTHING. I also REALLY loved cartoons. So one day, I had the greatest idea. I asked my dad to please build a button on the television that transported me into the cartoon I was watching when I pressed it. He rubbed my head and jokingly said he would do it. I actually thought he would.

I used to think when someone on TV said "brought to you by so and so company they were actually saying "brocktued by". It took me a while before I figured out brocktued wasn't a word.

In an episode of the tv show "The Flying Nun", sally field explains her ability to fly is because of several factors, one of which was how much she weighed. I immediately ran into the bathrom to measure myself on the scales, in the belief that if I also wieghed that amount there may be a chance that I could fly.

when I was child, I used to believed that inside a television, there were couple of people who control the commercials of the TV network! And in my imagination, I believed that inside the television, there was look like a space shuttle's cabin. And there were a lot of buttons that control the TV programs. I think it's funny enough when I think about it now when I am 15.

When I was a kid, I believed advertisements. In the 70's happy faced scrubbers came out and cleaned your bathtub for you in the commercial. So when my mother sent me upstairs to clean our tub, I was so excited. I sprayed the tub with the product and waited... Nothing. Soon Mom came up and asked what I was doing staring at the tub and to get busy. It was a good lesson, but heartbreaking. You should add a section about advertisements.

I used to believe that there was cameras all around People's houses(including mines) and that poeple could buy a special machine. In the machine you write the name of a person and you can see whatever the person was doing in their house. For 5 years I was afraid to do anything embarassing in my house because of the fear that someone was watching me.

I used to think that in movies or TV shows with flashbacks to the character's youth, that they had actually begun filming the show back when the actor was a child and resumed filming the rest of it when he or she was grown up. I always wondered how they knew that person was going to grow up to be an actor and want to do the rest of the movie. Or I marveled at the foresight of the filmmaker to start making the movie before he knew the rest of the story.

When I was 9 I watched Jarassic Park. It was the first film I ever saw when people die. So I thought of this theory that what happened was that they got paid lots of money then a year later the scenes were shot and they died. I asked my mum about this and she assured me they didn't die and she showed me the 'Making of the film' extra which explained the special effects.
