when i was younger i used to believe that whenever i watched t.v or a movie especially the people acting or using their voices in the animation (or w/e) were doing it at the exact moment that i was watching it, like it was being recorded live and transmitted into my t.v. and i used to say to myself "wat a sad, sad job they must have- running to the studio every time someone wanted to see the movie...." hehehe silly 'ole me... :-D
I was a huge fan of the Harry Potter films when I was little and I believed that all the magic and stuff was true! When I was nearly 11 years old I asked my mum to ask Dumbledore to send me a school aplication!!I'm 14 now, and I know it isn't real...but I still want to go hahaha!!
I used to believe that the laughter I heard on programmes such as 'friends' after a funny comment was made was actually people's laughter who were sitting at home watching it at the same time.

when my mom would turn on the radio in the car, i thought that there were little people in the hood of the car singing for us.

When I was little, I was told that on movies and shows, the actors were just playing a game, and later went home, and had regular lives like normal people.
My logical, though mistaken, assumption was that when cartoons were over, cartoons went home and had regular lives. The reason I never saw cartoons anywhere was because they lived in a separate cartoon world.

As a little kid, I would have to hide at the end of the show "Romper Room"...because I believed the host actually COULD see us all through her magic mirror.
"I see Joey...and Bobby...oh, and Kelly, I see you too!"
I played the Ocarina of Time far too much as a child and I believed that Hyrule was a real place in England or something. I thought there would be a castle, a princess, monsters, Ganon, and Link would have me help him if I went there.

I used to believe that those bugs from Bugs Life were real and that I could find them in a library for some reason.
I used to have SUCH a crush on Mighty Mouse when I was a kid. I used to think he was so HOT, LMAO!

In storm broadcasts came on the radio I used to believe it was Helen Keller speaking. Let me explain. I read in a biography that when she learned to speak she sounded robotic because she did not know to let her voice rise and fall. On storm broadcasts the people talking sounded like robots talking which lead me to that belief.

Once while watching a video with my grandmother, i saw that warning about copyright infringement but the only word i recognized was WARNING. I asked my grandma what the warning said, and she replied "oh, That's not for kids." Naturally, i assumed it must be something really bad and she just didn't want me to be scared. I spent the whole movie worrying about what terrible danger the video was trying to warn me about and wondering how my elderly grandmother was supposed to protect me from it. Eventually i decided it was a tornado warning and every time we watched a video after that i'd mentally plan my escape from the tornadoes that were out to get me.

When i was about 4 there was a commercial on tv for preventing child molestation. At the end it showed a finger pressing against lips as in "shhh" in black and white and slightly blurred. To me, this appeared to be a finger touching female private parts. I was absolutely disgusted by this commercial, and wondered why they would so graphically depict the very thing they were trying to prevent. I finally realized what it actually was when i say my little sister (who was barely a year old) see this part of the commercial, press her finger to her lips and go "shhh". I felt like such a pervert for having thought it was something else. I'm relieved i never told anyone what i thought it was!
I used to believe that my teddies and stuffed toys had camera's hidden behind there eyes and that the Alien's and secret agencies were spying on me. Talk about paranoid.

When the movie "Full Metal Jacket" came out, I thought it meant an actual jacket made of metal that the soldiers would wear, kind of like a suit of armor.
i used to believe that if you bought an old tv it would only play films or programmes from its era. made perfect sense at the time!
I started wondering how computer games actually worked at the age of nine. Having figured out that computer games are made up of series of images like movies, I'd ask my dad how the computer could have enough memory to store all the possible ball and paddle combinations in ARkanoid for the PC. having to remove the mouse driver for extra memory in games was a commonly needed and cryptic operation for a kid back then, though I had no idea what the numbers actually measured. Later on the very same year, I would wonder whether it's the car or the road that's moving in Geoff Grammonds World Circuit. Now, fifteen years later, I'm graduating in software engineering.

When I was little, I used to watch Growing Pains a lot. I couldn't read at the time, though, so I always referred to it "groin pains."
I used to watch my brother play Half-Life on the computer when I was young and I always thought I saw some sort of alien torturing a guy and he yelling "No! Don't put my head in the washing machine!"
