I thought if I poked people on the tv in the eye, they would feel it and go 'ow'.

I used to beleive that radios playing music or the shows on tv where played by tiny people inside the tv or radio.. i would stare at it and imagine how do they all fit in there and wonder how do they do to be up so early all the time or stay up so late.. since i would hear the same songs playing at all times of the day.

Back as a small child when I was finally old enough to identify what a radio was but before I was old enough to understand what records had to do with them, I believed that everyone I heard on the radio was performing live. I had this image in my mind that they were all gathered in a big room someplace and they would all take turns sitting around, waiting to be announced and then step up to a microphone and sing their hit song. Then when they were done, since I might hear the song several times during the day, I imagined they would all go sit down and wait around until they were called to perform again.

I used to believe that if you played a pokemon game and traded pokemon with a link cable, there were real pokemon inside and if you broke the link cable they would jump out and you could become a real pokemon master.
Its a good thing i never tested this theory. my mum would have killed me.

I used to believe that the TV show Matlock was a cooking program, because in Swedish "matlock" means "food lid".

I used to believe that actors were people that were suicidal, and the stunts were real. I didn't believe in special affects. Yeah...

In the 90's, when the first Austin Powers movie came out, my friends and I had just watched the "Halloween" movies for the first time...so whenever people would talk about Mike Myers, we would get really confused and think they were talking the "Halloween" movies...I remember in like 5th or 6th grade, this boy in our class did something that was kinda awkwardly funny and someone was like, "Ha ha, that's something that Mike Myers would do!" and my friends and I got really confused and were like, "No, he wouldn't! He would attack you with a knife!"...and we couldn't understand why people were giving us strange looks!!

I used to believe that when you turned off the tv all the people inside on the show you were watching stopped what they were doing and waited until you turned it back on to finish what they were saying.

I loved to watch Blues Clues as a kid. You know how Steve would say stuff like "Where was that clue again?" And then you'd hear a bunch of kids go "Right there!"
I always thought those were the voices of other kids who were watching the show at the same time as me.
And- it gets better- I thought that by yelling my answers directly into the TV speaker, this enabled other kids around the world to hear me.

When I was little my parents used to record shows off the tv onto tapes. Every time they did I would constantly tell everyone to be quiet otherwise our voices would be recorded onto the tape with it and mess up the recording. It took me a while to realize that can't happen because everytime someone tried to tell me i kept telling them to be quiet until it's over.

When I was little, I used to believe if you threw a hammer at the tv screen and broke it, you could crawl in with the actors or actresses. Good thing I never tried.

You know how those "Closed captioning was brought to you by..." followed by silence. Up until a few years ago, I thought they were telling us who sponsored the show via the closed captioning and since mine wasn't on, I wasn't able to find out.

It became an obsession to try and turn on the closed captioning so I could at least ONCE see who sponsored such shows (I was somewhat jealous that there was information to which I wasn't privy). Of course, I never remembered until I heard those words announced, after which I'd fumble with remote only to be too late.

I remember when I went to Disneyland in Paris, I was 4 and I was extremely excited to see all the Disney characters. I thought they were real, and when I saw them I asked my mom: "If those are the actual Mickey Mouse and Goofy, and Pluto, why are they *always* smiling?" Then (a few years later) I found out that they were just people in costumes. I was so disappointed...

You know how really old movies are in black and white? Well, I used to believe that movies became black and white over a long period of time because all the colour faded away. So when I went to see a movie when I was about 7, I thought 'Wow this is going to be in black and white in 60 years :O'

When I was little I thougth all commericals were live. So everytime a commerical was made they were being filmed as I watched it and everytime a commerical came on directly after the other I thought they would act it out again.

When I was little I saw the movie Mary Poppins I loved how Mary could fly with her umbrella and wanted to fly as well.

One day it was rather windy out and got real excited. I went and got my mum's umbrella and ran to the picnic table and opened it up and jumped off it over and over again. I was determinded to fly.

It never happened.

When they write Disney on the screen in 'Disney Script' I thought the D looked like a weird G and it wasnt for years that I finally saw the "D". I always thought it odd that they would be Gisney films....

I used to believe that Storm Troopers in the Star Wars films were Robots. It never occurred to me to question how Luke and Han could put on the suits if there was a robot inside.

In the Christmas song Silent Night, the lyrics go "Round yon Virgin mother and child, holy infant so tender and mild..."
Well, I am 15 years old, and I JUST FOUND OUT about a month ago that "round yon Virgin" did not refer to the fact that Mary was round-shaped because she was pregnant, but to the fact that everyone was gathered around her and baby Jesus.
I guess I never really thought about the fact that she had already had him, so she wouldn't be that round anymore.
