That "Twim Peaks" and Northern Exposure were the same show.
I used to believe people on tv could hear me. That's why, like they never answered me, I hated all of them. And no, I'm not ashamed!

When I was 7, I watched Stand and Deliver. When the guy has a heart attack, I asked, "did he really have a heart attack?(refering to the actor)" My mom told me yes, (refering to the actual person the movie was based on.) I thought, if he's having a heart attack, why won't the camera man or director help him?!

When I was little I used to believe that when the NPR station said "this program is brought to you by you, our listeners," I thought that they were talking about a kind benefactor named U.R. Listeners who always sponsered public radio.

We used to have this old baseball video game when I was a kid. When You hit the ball a certain way it would foul and the ball would pop straight up toward the screen. My father told me if you hit it hard enough it could break through the screen.
I used to watch "Quantum Leap" with my Dad every time it was on. Of course, you think TV shows are real when you're a kid, so I started developing a fear that Sam would leap into ME. After a little while, my fear turned into happiness, because it meant he was there to fix a mistake in my life. One day on a car ride, I turned to my dad and said "Dad, if I start acting different some day, make sure you do whatever I say, because it will make our lives better." He looked completely confused. I told him it would just be Sam inside of me, and not to worry if it looked like I was talking to nobody (meaning Sam's hologram friend Al). My dad had no idea what I was talking about for a good ten minutes, and then burst out with "Oh! Quantum Leap!"
I used to believe that videotape projected like a film strip, so I took a video of the movie "Beethoven" and drew on the tape inside with a Sharpie, hoping to make a working animated cartoon once I put it in the VCR. When it didn't work (it looked a little garbled in places, nothing more), I spit on the tape, thinking the wad of spit, being thicker than ink, would surely show up on the screen for one frame. It caused the tape to snap when I rewound it, and it made my mother very unhappy.
I used to believe that movies were actually television news stories about really weird events. This was shattered at age 6 when I saw "The Making of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids."
I used to think that if I watched too much TV, I would forget how to read. Sometimes when I was sick and had spent the whole day in front of the TV, I would grab a book to check if my reading skills had worsened.
I used to believe that when people died in movies, they really did die. Then i couldnt understand why they would reappear in another movie and die again.

When I was about 5 or 6, I was watching the Disney Channel before I went to bed. When I woke up the next morning and turned on the tv, the same show was on. this led me to believe that when you turn off the tv, it pauses and you can watch it later if you turn the tv back on. I only believed this for a few months.
I used to think that video game cheat codes were illegal, and if you used them, police would take your video games away. I didn't understand why it was illegal to sell magazines full of cheat codes. I thought that the store had a special license to sell them or something.
I used to believe that when the hosts of Sale of the Century waved at the cameras when the show was ending, that they were actually waving goodbye to me. I used to wave back at them.

I was really afraid of Felix the Cat, I even had to go to a psychologist cause I thought he would come out of the tv and kill me
