I used to believe…
When I was very young (4 years i think maybe 5) I used to watch Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. I never really liked the show. So one day I was fed up with listening to him. So I went up to the TV and looked at Mr. Rogers and said, "You are stupid". The TV camera zoomed into his face and I thought he was mad at me. I got terrified and ran away and told my mom if the TV man could hear me. She told me no but I didn't believe her. I ran up to the TV and changed the channel quickly so he wouldn't yell at me.

When listening to the radio as a child, I often heard the d.j. stating that to win such and such prize, you had to wait for the "q-ta-call." I was unsure what the q-ta-call was...if it was a special noise or sound that told you when to call. A couple of years ago, a d.j. who spoke more slowly than the others helped me understand what a "q-ta-call" is....its the "cue to call."
I used to believe the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were real. How wrong I was!

i used to think that "the king and i" was a musical based around the life of priscilla presley
I once went to watch a movie and saw the main hero die a tragic death. Thinking that he was dead for good, I started crying and created quite a scene. I coulndn't bear the fact that now he wont be able to make any more movies!
I used to believe that the people performing on the radio (Andy Williams, Nat King Cole, etc.) were actually singing in the radio station's studio. I always wanted to go there and see the singers until it was explained to me about records, etc. Total bummer.

The first time i went to the cinema i went iwth my family and we sat at the very back. i wanted to get up to go to the bathroom but my brother said that if i get up i might block the projector and the people in the movie would pop out and get me coz i ruined their movie...
i was around 13 when i realised that wasnt true.

When I was young I loved The Care bears, and I thought that they lived in the clouds, I had never flown before so I wasnt sure if they did or not, one day my friend went on holiday and when she returned I asked her if she saw any Care bears and she said yes, and went into detail about who she saw in the clouds!
So when I flew for the first time despite being 15 and knowing better I was still looking out for the Care Bears in the clouds.

I used to wonder how they managed to fit the orchestra into the radio station.

When I was about 5 or so, I assumed R-rated movies were the same as G-rated ones. I wondered why my parents were so against letting me see an R-rated movie.

When I was little, I was scared to death of sleeping infront of a TV that was turned off. I thought that when the TV was off, a giant humanoid space ant would crawl out, and drag you back into the TV. It got so bad that I ran down the hallway screaming once and I peed on the carpet.

When I was young and I listened to the radio, I never understood how they got all those musicians in one studio at the same time. Must've been awfully crowded.

When I was quite small (3 - 5) the Bugs Bunny show came on every Saturday morning, with all the Looney tunes characters singing on stage "This is it, hit the lights, this is it, the night of nights. . . " etc....then they come to a part where the music stops and with a drum roll, they introduce "and now, that Oscar winning rabbit, BUGS BUNNY!"
Well, I sure as heck did not know what an Oscar was, but I DID know what a hot dog was and knew the Oscar Meyer Weiner song. I always thought they were saying "That Oscar WEENIE rabbit". I could never figure out why it was so great to be a weenie.

I believed that my car radio was just a bunch of people who hid in my trunk to sing to me. But they always hid when I looked in the trunk.
I used to believe that there were little people inside my radio who sang the music. When my radio broke I figured they'd died. Imagine my surprise when I was opening my Christmas present and I got a new radio. How had they been able to breathe in the wrapping paper? I figured this one wouldn't work either, Santa had suffocated them.
I used to think that after watching a movie in a theatre, the music during the end credits was there for you to dance to. Needless to say I was the only one who ever stood in front of the entire theatre and danced.
I used to believe that that the people in the tv were really in there and i wanted to break open the glass on front and let them out. Especially when I watched Gilligan's Island. I felt so sorry for them being trapped on that island. And I wanted to help them escape!!
I believed singers sang into a a microphone at the radio station and all of the songs were live.
I believed for so long that Lindsey Lowhan (or however you spell it) had a twin during the parent trap...I still say she does..lol :-)
