You know how on Jeopardy there was always these things supporting the program that Alex Trebek just /had/ to tell you about? When he said "brought to you by" I thought he said somethnig that sounded like "brochuby" so it was like a question like "Brochuby Zest bath soap?" I assumed he was trying to hypnotise me into buying it... I always told him that I only got 2 dollars for allowance (I was 5) and that wasn't enough to buy a huge thing of soap.

When I was a kid, the logo for channel 12 was an oval with the letters "WHYY" in it, and occasionally the station would show the logo and play music. I used to believe that the logo was actually a small dark-colored man with the logo as his head, and I was in mortal danger whenever the music would start to play. I was so afraid that he would come out and drag me into the TV! Needless to say, I never watched channel 12.

I remember seeing my first Mr. Clean commercial; a woman mopping the floor with Mr. Clean floor cleaner and he appears on her freshly mopped floor. As a small child I believed if I used this product he would appear. When at the store with my mom, I would ask her if we could by some so I could see him but she would tell me it was just way to expensive for her to buy.

My favorite belief from when i was about 10 was that E.T. lived next door. Our neighbor sounded just like E.T. I thought that couldnt be right because of course E.T. went home and why would E.T. be living next door to me. And how did he turn into a human instead of a alien... The odd thing is they have a tortose whose name really is E.T. that made me even more confused. Well he kinda looked like E.T. and maybe he didnt go home after all just shrank and moved into my neighbors yard... and gave his voice to my neighbor...My friends teased me for years when I told them I thought she sounded like him i never mentioned the rest... :)
