When a TV station was having difficulty broadcasting and a voice came on and said to "Please stand by," I thought it was my fault the TV wasn't working and got up and stood by the TV until the TV was working again.

We listened to the radio a lot in my mom's car. I thought that when you turned the radio off, the DJ stopped playing the song. I would flip through the stations trying to find the song that we left off on.

There used to be a radio station in Cleveland that called itself Jammin' 92. I first heard of it around the year 1992. After that, I was confused as to why they were still using the 92 in their name when it was 1993. The station's frequency never occured to me.

A few years ago I loved to play the Sims, a computer game where you build houses and control the people who live in them. My dad would ask me about it once in a while and one day I told him you could buy a Sims game for the Sims to play on their little computer. Thats when my dad told me we were probably in a computer game being controlled by a world more complex than ours. I seriously considered this for a while.

When I was in kindergarden I saw a commerical advertising a karate class and when I wasked how they got the footage my mom said there was a hidden camera in a karate class. The next day at school I told a boy there was probably a hidden camera in here watching us so we should dance. We did a little jig and talked to the ceiling for a while hoping to be on TV.

When I was really young and I first saw The Simspons on TV, I didn't know that they were supposed to be humans. I thought they were these wierd-looking aliens with yellow skin. When I saw a character with dark skin that wasn't yellow, I thought, "Wow, he actually looks like a normal person. "

I used to believe that to adult person, television news is shown as animated cartoon because my grandfa had always said that news program is much funnier than cartoon film.

There was a commercial on TV for a local car dealership with the jingle, "If you're looking for a deal, go see Cal." I believed it was "If you're looking for a deal, pussy cow," and I would sing it out loud without ever getting corrected.

One time I was watching TV and I got mad at something, so I threw a hair clip at the TV. I heard it land but couldn't find it, so I was convinced that it had fallen into the TV, where it would ignite and set the house on fire. I was sure that my mom and I would come home from our bike ride that day to find our house in ruins.

Later it was unearthed behind the entertainment center- who knew?

Probably until I was about 7 or 8 I thought CareBears really lived in the clouds. My dad would fly 2-3 times a year for his job and every time he was leaving I would ask him to take a picture of the CareBears from the window. Then when he got there he would call and tell me he saw Care-a-lot (where they live). I would get so excited and couldn't wait til he brought home pictures...but there never were any. I never understood why he couldn't just take the picture!

I believed that when the "Test of the Emenrgency Broadcast System" (complete with high pitcehd soud) came on the TV during cartoons, that they were scanning for emergencies like Russian attacks, tornados and other natural disasters.

I waited anxiously until they announced that this had only been a test to be assured that no disaster was eminent.
