Up until I was about 8 I thought that there was a tiny eclectic band that was trapped in radios. I always tried to open them to feed them, but I never could.

After watching a commercial for Imperial margarine and then eating some on bread I spent hours looking for my crown wondering why it didn't appear on my head with a "BA BA DA DUM!"
Also after eating a Halls I would wonder why I didn't see vapours going up my nose like on TV.

There was a show called "You can't do that on Television" back in the (19)80's on Nickelodeon. Sometimes they'd ask the home audience to participate and 'vote' by pressing a Red or Green square on the screen. Although I always wondered how it worked, I really believed my vote went through by touching the TV screen. & sometimes, when I thought I was being slick, I wouldn't vote, just to see if 'they' would notice and say something to me on TV or send a letter to my mom.

When I was little and was into the show 'Late Night with Conan O'Brien', and looked it up on Wikipedia. I was horrified when it said that he 'often manipulates his pompadour for comic effect'. I didn't know what a pompadour was, and assumed it was vulgar. It makes me laugh to this day.

Watching the 'Mr Muscle' cleaning product-range ads convinced me that the products actually made Mr Muscle appear in your bathroom or kitchen and clean up the place for you.

When I was 5 i used to watch a lot of old Bollywood films with my mum (i still watch them!). Being Muslim, i knew that Hindu's believed that they were reborn. When watching the film, i often noticed that the same actors that i had seen in other films. I used to think 'Wow these Hindu's must really be reborn if they live that many lives!' I was on constant lookout because i thought Allah was filming everyone in the universe by means of hiding tiny little camera's everywhere to record our every movement!

I used to believe that films were real and so I would be terrified to see a scary film as I thought that the charactors would come and "get me" at night if I didn't think that the film was good needless to say i didn't see many films as a child and still have a problem with horror films to this day!

I used to believe that cartoons were real but they lived in a another world and did not know we were watching them and they watched us as TV shows and shows with real people were shows that got mixed up and came to are world

When I was young. My sister and her friends used to always watch Amittlyville: The Possesion and it used to freak me out so much. I was always scared of looking at the case and I always believed that Sonny (the guy that gets possessed in the movie) was always there in the dark just watching and waiting for me to fall asleep. Today, I'm still freaked out by those nightmares but when I watcht he movie I'm not scared of it.

I used to wonder how the announcer on TV nature programs managed to "direct" animals to do exactly what the announcer was talking about at any given moment.

When I was 5, I thought that the Sesame Street TV show was actually a real world taking place inside the TV, and that all I had to do to get to Sesame Street was go through the TV screen. Needless to say, my mother was not too happy about me breaking the screen of our only TV set with a hammer so that I could join my Sesame Street pals!
