When I was youger, I used to believe that if you put the side of your face to the TV screen, you would be able to see everything else that they weren't showing you on the screen...like if there was a tree branch on TV, if I put the side of my face to the screen I would be able to see the WHOLE tree.

I used to believe when a song was played on the radio, the singer/band was called up from whatever they were doing to sing on a big stage and that was being recorded and sent to my radio. i thought the same thing for my CD player too.

I used to pick up Mrs. Butterworth bottles and try to get them to talk to me like they did in the commercials.

I used to believe…

In the cartoon Superted, Superted has to say the secret word to activate his powers. I thought that if you turned up the volume loud enough and listened really hard it was possible to hear the word and become Super as well.

I used to believe that if I said 'Hey Kool-Aid!' loudly enough, the giant pitcher would come crashing through the wall like in the TV commercials. But then I would be in big trouble for destroying the house and so I never tried.

I once asked someone how they made it look so real when people got shot in the movies...

The response was that they find people who want to commit suicide and who look enough like the actor (who was going to be shot) and they'd use them, with real bullets.

Once I watched a Shania Twain concert on TV and I thought if I turned the volume up it told her to sing louder.

I used to believe that when I movie came out in theaters they only had one copy of the movie and they passed it around to the different theaters across the country and that's why it would show in one place before another. Then several copies would be made to sell.

I used to believe that whenever I dance in a room where the TV is on, everyone who is watching TV could also see me. I felt embarrassed since I didn't assume I was dancing perfectly. I would turn the TV off and dance, and whenever I thought I had enough practice with a specific tune I would turn the TV on and dance quite cautiously, lest I would be criticized for my performance.

I used to believe that when you watched tv whenever the shot was changed to a different camera that the operator would quickly pull out the tape and throw it to the next person who had the next shot.

There was this old Pop- Tarts commercial that I really liked in fifth grade. It was advertising freezing your Pop- Tarts, so it had a yeti in it that said, "Best eaten frozen!" At the end of the ad, an announcer with a Norwegian accent cam on and said, "Listen to the Yeti!" But I thought he was saying something in Norwegian, like, "Lisen Tudietti!"

I used to believe that commercials were predictions of television shows.

I used to believe…

When I was about 3 years old, I was obsessed with the movie "The Big Rock Candy Mountain" In the movie, these two kids would meet two bears in their backyard. When they went down the slide on the playground, they would end up at the Big Rock Candy Mountain in a magical town. I would spend hours sliding down the slide in my backyard trying to get the the Big Rock Candy Mountain. After a very long while, I told myself that the only reason I couldn't get there was because I didn't have a magical bear in my backyard.

i don't remember what age i was but i used to think making a movie that took place over several years had to be filmed over like 20 years or something because i didn't think they took kids to be the young version of a character and another actor/actress for the older version. i thought they started the movie when the kid was like 5 or so and when they reached the right age for the next part of the movie they'd start filming again, with the same actor/actress, and so on, until the movie was finished. needless to say, i was quite impressed by the quality of the movie considering i thought for the movie to come out in theatres in 1998 or so, they had started filming in the 70's lol.

Everytime I saw Oscar the Grouch pull something out of his trashcan, I wanted to get inside of it. I knew it had to be huge, a trash can mansion, and I wanted to see what else he had.

Rememeber the USA Cartoon Express? It came on the USA channel and it was a time when they showed a number of cartoons back to back. Well, they used to show an animated train with children on it, watching the cartoons. I ALWAYS wanted to get on that train and just watch cartoons all day long.

My parents used to watch Dance Fever (70s show where couples would disco in fancy costumes and compete). I always wondered how the couples knew what moves to make. I thought they made it up as they go along. And if the lady jumped and the guy caught her, well he just happened to look at the right moment and catch her on time.

When I was little, I thought that "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Beverly Hill Billies" were the same show. In fact, I think I used to call them "Beverly Hill Billies 90210."
