When I was young. My sister and her friends used to always watch Amittlyville: The Possesion and it used to freak me out so much. I was always scared of looking at the case and I always believed that Sonny (the guy that gets possessed in the movie) was always there in the dark just watching and waiting for me to fall asleep. Today, I'm still freaked out by those nightmares but when I watcht he movie I'm not scared of it.
When I first saw the film Gandhi advertised at a cinema, I thought it was a film about a friend of mine whose surname was Gandhi.
I used to believe there actually exists real-life equivalent of Cruella DeVil from "101 dalmatians", only she's called Lustylla DeBet (debet means debit in Polish) and she is accountant, she drives old-fashioned car like the one from movie, only the front of it is divided in half by T account and it has "Fa VAT 146" on its plate ("Fa Vat" is invoice in Polish) and there are accouncy documents stuck behind the wipers!
When my parents took me to see my godfather I got really scared because I thought he would be a gangster and he would kill me. I think I overdosed on Hollywood.
I used to believe that "lukewarm water" was warmed by luke skywalker. i guess i watched a little too much starwars.
I used to think that it was impossible for a cartoon movie to be rated PG-13 (British equivelent: 12 or 15), or certainly not R (British: 18) So when I heard about a cartoon movie rated PG-13 I got really confused. It just didn't make sense to me.
I misread the title of this B-movie, "The Creature from the Black Lagoon", when I was a kid, so I'd squeal, "The lagoon is coming to get me!" all the time.
My parents tried to explain it to me, but I guess I never got it.
I used to believe that "adult movie" referred to documentaries and such; boring, educational movies that only adults would want to watch.
When I saw Rain Man for the first time, the back of the box said "Best Actor Dustin Hoffman." Being a kid, it mystified me that someone would actually name their child Best Actor....
once iwas watching the movie face off and my mom pretended that she took my nose off so i started to cry, wine and yell give me back my nose
Before I could read (around the age of 4) I thought that when a movie ended there was a roll inside of tv that displayed the same credits over and over - as they rolled up the screen they appeared at the bottom again.
I heard about the musical Cabaret and thought the characters were involved in World War 2. (They were based on real people, but they never fought in the war)
When I was little my older sisters used to go to the 'pictures' on a Friday or Saturday night. I didn't realise that 'pictures' meant the cinema and I used to envisage my sisters and their friends walking around a museum or art gallery type of set up just looking at pictures. I once asked them to let me know if they saw a picture of Knight Rider, they thought I was very weird.
When I was little I thought that videotapes worked by sending a signal to the actors who would then quick get ready and perform the movie for you. If you pressed pause, they would stand totally still, and if you pressed rewind they would do it all backward.
When I was younger, I believed that the Chinese Mann Theatre was built in honour of Bruce Lee.
On "Entertainment Tonight", they had a promo about "Zoolander" ... andthe way they did the promo, I thought that Derek Zoolander was an actual male model ... who looked remarkably like Ben Stiller ...
I used to believe that I was in a movie that was beeing filmed, and that one day it would come out in theaters. And I was not just an actor, but a writer and director of that movie too. When a red car passed me on my way to school, it passed me because I wrote that in the movie of my life a red car passes me on my way to school. I thought that all movies I saw on tv or in theaters were somebodys life and were made like this - with an invisible crew. :)
When i was little i used to think the screens in the movie theater were HUGE ones of those TV VCR mixes. I thought there were HUGE videos that a whole army of people would have to carry in. I also thought there were buttons on the bottom, so one time when the movie stopped due to "technical difficulties" i ran up to the screen and searched for a play button. needless to say, i didnt find it.
When I was little I believed that Casper the ghost from the movie Casper was real. Because he turned into a hot guy when he temporarily came back to life at the end of the movie I had a huge crush on him. I used to believe I was in love with him and that someday we would meet and marry. I daydreamed about our wedding and everything!
I used to believe that the credits at the end of the movies were the names of the people in the theater watching the film. I remember being terribly disappointed at not seeing my name on the screen but reasoned that I was too young to be counted.
