I used to believe that radio stations were just playing songs from VH1 or MTV. SO if I had to leave whatever was playing on tv would be n the car too. But that was never the case because my mom always played tapes.
I used to think that when you put in a tape the little men jumped in the tape and they lived in little houses on certain parts of the tape. the same with cds I used to wonder how they could live with everything spinning.
i used to believe that inside the radio in our kitchen were all these people that sat in chairs and waited their turn to talk or sing their songs... they sat there patiently, lined up in a hallway, waiting their turn at the microphone all day...
i used to beleive that the radio station 97.7 KISS was KIDS.
I was a navy brat that had to move around a lot. We were in and out of the country every 6 months. I used to believe that the AM dial on my radio was for American Music and the FM was for Foreign Music
Being a nutty child, i thought the bands actually went to every single radio station to play their song. I used to get angry at the DJ's for talking over their music!
My Pop likes to channel hop the radio and the same band was playing on two stations. I asked how they could be in two places at once.
It was then revealed to me about CDs!!!
I used to think that the songs coming out of the radio were sung by little trolls and that when the music was fading out it meant they were walking away down a tunnel.
I used to beleive that radio DJ's would sing all the songs... if there was a lady singing a song it was his wife or sister... hehe. I thought that for quite a long time....
Used to think that DJ's would just be really quite when the song was playing so that you could not here them.
An if i turned the radio up loud enough i would be able to him him/her breath
Up until about two years ago I thought NPR's Morning Edition was brought to you by the few charitable trusts (not the Pugh Charitable Trusts)...oops
When I was young, I used to believe that the songs that I heared on the radio, were realy put inside the radio, like a record or a tape.
I taught some man came around to do this, and that this happened when I was at school, because I never saw anyone doing this.
I used to believe that when they played songs on the radio, the bands actually played in the radio studio. I always wondered how they could so quickly set up for and start the next song.
Because of a dream, when I was five I thought that if I unplugged the radio while it was playing a CD, it would make a horrible noise and then the house would explode. Dad told me it wasn't true, but I was a bit suspicious of radios for a few days after that.
I studied painting with a guy who grew up in an orphanage in Mexico City. He told me once that when he was a kid, he used to listen to the "Green Hornet" on this old vacuum tube type radio. He liked to look through the back into the weird little world of the vacuum tubes and was convinced that one day he would see the Green Hornet himself, riding around down there
When I was little and obsessed with the New Kids On the Block, I used to sit in my bedroom listening to the cassettes, staring into the speakers, because I actually thought that they were in there singing to me. I couldn't understand how they were in there, but I new they were. OH GOD!
I used to belief when i was child, the peaple were in the radio.
when I was about 5 years old I thought that a there was 1 radio station for the entire world. I thought it was in space conected to a satalite and that it was pretty much a big stage that people would perform on.
We used to get a coach to school every morning and the driver used to listen to BBC Radio 2 on it. For the longest time I thought the DJ that had the breakfast show was called 'Joe Stracey' because they had this jingle that sounded like 'Radio 2 ... Joooooe Straaaaacey'. It wasn't until I was about 17 that I found out that the jingle actually said 'Radio 2 ... gooooes racing' and preceeded their tips for that days horse racing and that the DJ was actually Terry Wogan.
When I was 3, I used to think that people were singing on a stage inside the radio.
