my older sister could NEVER make me take a nap in the afternoon since i was glued to the tv. one day, she was absolutely fed up with me, so she told me that little girls and boys who watched too much tv would get sucked into the t.v.
When I was really small I had heard about a show called "Murder She Wrote." Not knowing what the word Murder meant at the time I thought it was someone's name and that the show was about some little girl who had just learned how to write.
I used to think that once you turned off a tv set or radion, the shows would all pause until you turned it on again, at which time it would resume. I never really thought about how other people watched tv, though. I figured that they just would pop on the set and a sign would come up saying, "The TV is frozen at the moment, please watch again later." I thought we were really lucky that it never did that to me.
In Czech Rep. there is a cartoon every day at seven. It has the same tune since it has been started X years ago.A voice there says "Good night" in the end. As a little girl I used to believe that the boy who is saying this, had to go to TV-studio, wait till the cartoon is over and then say "Goog Night". "Poor boy" i thought.
I thought Chuck Norris looked almost exactly like Mr. T until I saw Walker, Texas Ranger, wich i heard he was in. Then I asked my dad why he wasn't in any of the episodes and he said THAT is him.
As a kid I used to get really confused by advertisements that stated that a store was selling "Occasional furniture". I thought there must be some strange kind of vanishing chairs and tables that would only appear some times, sort of like the Cheshire cat... It was only later that someone told me that it was furniture for special occasions; to be used occasionally.
when i was about 4-6 years old i used to think that cartoons where peoples dreems..
I used to thing they connected selected people to special machines when they were sleeping...
When I was little I wanted to be an actress, then I found out that when actors don't want to be on tv shows anymore they will often kill the character off, I thought this meant that they killed the actor for quitting. I then decided that I would just never quit a tv show.
My mother had my sister and I *convinced* that there were only 7 child actors in Hollywood. No matter how much we protested that they all looked different, she still insisted that they were all the same actors. Let's just say that we were really confused us when we watched the Cosby Show.
To this day, I have no idea why she lied to us like that.
I am apparently the most gullible person on earth....I used to believe that on the show "Bewitched", Samantha and her 'cousin' Serena were 2 different people. It was years before I realized Serena was just Elizabeth Montgomery in a black wig.
When I was little i used to believe that the T.V. was like a window, and if you looked farther over towards the edge of the screen you would see more.
I always thought that all T.V. was live. If someone was on two different channels at the same time they would have to run to the studio and get changed in time for me to change the T.V. over. I also believed that you could record a show at any time even days before and after it had been on.
I used to believe that things would come out of the tv if i went of the screen i would wait for hours to see it come out.
I used to believe that when I turned off the tv (for dinner, to go to bed, etc), the program would pause and would be available when I turned it back on.
When I was a child, I used to believe a little person lived on my TV. And I wanted to have one.
When I used to watch tv I believed that the old movies that were in black and white were showing that the world was in black and white in the early 1900s.
I used to believe that when someone died in a movie or tv show, they died in real life. Such an arbitrary belief, and i was equally shocked when i saw that person in another production.
When I was about 3, I guess my ears were ringing one day, because it sounded like the high pitched whine of a TV. I told my mom that it felt like we were on TV.
I used to believe if you turn of the tv in one spot next time you'd turn it on it would be the same thing
I used to beleive every time you watched a video cassette the actors would act it out every tme. Confusing huh?
