When I was really little I used to believe if you broke the screen of the TV the characters would come out and you could talk to them and hang around them so every time Barney(which was my favorite tv show) came on i would ask my mom for the hammer and she asked why and i said i want to break the tv to play with barney
When I was really young, I used to watch an afternoon talk and entertainment show called "House Party." I thought when we turned on the TV, it made me a guest on the show and I used to dance around the room when the music played and use some of my mother's clothing as "costumes." I jumped around the room like a nut and I thought that the applause was for me. (How crazy was I???)
When I used to look through the TV guide I used to think that "As London" was a real programme, and wasn't it on an awful lot!
when i was smaller my sister told me barney would come eat me and at night she would wisper "barney...barney" i would watch his show a lot so he wouldnt get mad and want to kill me even more
I'm not sure why, but I used to be absolutey terrified of Miss Piggy from The Muppet Show. None of the other characters bothered me, but whenever she appeared on screen I used to cack myself. My mum & dad used to find this very funny for some reason.
I was also convinced that Miss Piggy lived in our spare room and that she'd leap out from behind the door if all the lights were out.
My sister once told me that Worzel Gummidge from the TV show was going to come and get me when I was asleep! I scared myself for ages!
I used to believe that every show was done after the introduction...(when the commercial came on right after). Everytime after the commercial, I'd clap and change the channel. All my friends would ask me if I saw friends last night, and I'd always reply, in a sacastic way "well they all sang the song and sat on the couch again. How could you like that show??" I liked the simpsons more, because part of the introduction changed everytime!!
When I was very little I used to watch the cosby show and I thought Cliff Hustable and Claire Hustable were actually married like in real life, and theo, vanessa and all them were his actual kids. When I found out Bill Cosby was married to someone else I was very confused. I thought he had two wives!
When i was little,I used to believe that T.V. channels went on forever. So, at 4 in the morning, i would start flipping through the channels for a 6 o' clock show!!!
when i was little i thought that i was in a tv show and that i was on tv, and that all tv shows were of real people doing real things in real life, i didn't really know about actors then, so i just thought everyone was on tv, im kinda confused now about what i thought cartoons were
Terry Nutkins was a TV presenter in Britain, famous for programmes like 'Animal Magic' and 'The Really Wild Show'. He was balding on top of his head but had quite long hair at the back. When I was about 11 or 12, a friend told me that Terry Nutkins couldn't ever have his hair cut because he had nerve endings in his hair and it would hurt too much. I believed it unquestioningly until, while a university student, I started to tell someone else about Terry Nutkins' hair and realised that it probably wasn't true.
my best friend used to think that Jimmy Saville's name was Jim'll Saville because of 'Jim'll Fix It'
jim'll fix it was my favourite programme when i was little. (english show about mad eccentric cigar smoking millionaire making kid wildest dreams come true. saturday night prime time mid 80s) thought his first name was jimull and his last was fixit. i wrote to jimull fixit asking if my dad could be a dr who dalek for a day. he didn't make my dream come true but i must've made the day of some researchers in the jimull office that day!
when i was young i was frightened of the "bully" in jim bowns bullseye
When tv hosts said "give them a round of applause" on gameshows, I used to believe they were saying "give them a round on the floors". In response, I'd lean down and trace circular/round patterns on the floor with my fingers - and wondered why nobody else ever did the same!
I used to believe that the power rangers were real and every time they fought, it was really going on.
When I was younger (4,5 etc) I used to hink that the thunderbird dolls were alive. It was really scary, because I used to think that they were come and kill me or something when they weren't on TV. I was a complete idiot. :s
I used to believe that Doctor Who was filmed live.
My husband loved and feared The Incredible Hulk when he was little. He watched the show from the couch, ready to flee if the hulk smashed out of the tv and into his living room. One day he reasoned that he didn't really have so much to be afraid of because even if the hulk did escape...he would only be a few inches tall.
When I was younger my mom babysat kids, and this one kid thought that Cookie Monster from Seseme Street, was called Cookie Monkey. it was funny.
