When I was younger, when watching TV, I used to think that the laughing that happens after a joke was the laughter of the other people watching the show from their own living rooms. I used to try to talk to my cousins or friends if I knew they'd be watching the same show.

i thought that all television sitcoms were real with real people and their real lives. i thought everyone had their own tv show and when your tv was turned off was when your show was on for everyone else to see. so whenever my tv was off and i was in just my underwear i'd freak out and run to my room and put my pants on.

when i was sevenyears old, i watched the miniseries "V" in which alien lizards impersonated humans. i was convinced that when i went to bed, my parents stripped off their skin and relaxed as the evil lizards they truly were. i used to sit on the stairs when they thought to spy on them, trying to catch them without their human disguises on.

When I was a kid I liked the show TJ Hooker with Heather locklear, etc. Well I thought that every police officer was a "hooker". Once I was walking with my father past some cops and I yelled "look at all the hookers!" I never understood why I got an odd combination of laughs and red faces by everyone around me.

when i was about 4-5, i used to watch sesame street everyday..sometimes even twice. well after the show was over i was talking to my mom telling her that our family should take a vacation to sesame street. i was too little to get the concept of tv, and make believe. i was so sad to find out that it wasnt a real place.

When I used to watch the australian soap, "home and away" as I child, I'd have great fun singing along to the theme tune, but I always got confused when the song was drawing to an end and it said,"glosseridge day", I used to wonder what in God's name a Glosseridge day was. I was about 12 when I finally worked out that the words were actually,"closer each day"!

I used to believe that all of my little boy-friends would grow up to look like Pat Sajak, and all of my little girl-friends (myself included) would look like Vanna White. I hate that show now...

When I was a kid, my mom watched alot of star trek, so naturally, I started watching it with her. Around then, I thought that starfleet academy was a real place and I wanted to grow up to be a starfleet officer

When I was little I thought Oprah Winfreys name was really "Okra" Winfrey, so one night for dinner I told my mom I wanted fried Okra for dinner, not the lady on T.V. but the kind you eat.

I used to believe that all TV shows were drawn, like cartoons, and that the ones with real actors were actually drawn with very good crayons.. It never occurred to me that they were real people o_O

In the 5th grade, so many of my classmates liked to watch “Home Improvement.” Not knowing anything about the sitcom, I thought there was this new fad of watching home repair shows.

Remember Buck Rogers?? There was a character who could take his head off and set it on a table. I tried for days to take my head off and couldn't understand why he could do it so easily and I couldn't...granted I was only 3 yrs. old.

Then i had a dream, that i was watching Seasame St. then he said "Hi *******, want 2 play? i couldn't talk (in the dream). He jumped out of the T.V. pulled out a BIG knife, chased me through out the house, killed all of my family. Then I ran down 2 the basement, hid behind a HUGE box and hid there for about 2 days. In the cult British Kids show called Rainbow, there was a character called Zippy, whose mouth you could zip up, and if he got really annoying one of the other characters would zip him up. This used to scare the hell out of me, cos i thougt "if they keep him zipped up too long he'll suffocate!" I couldn't watch Rainbow after that.

My friends and I used to pretend we were the girls from "Sailor Moon" and we would watch the show everyday. When we watched it, we would point out the characters and tell each other and our parents that that was us on TV. I was really disappointed when we all yelled "Moon Power" and funky glitter didn't come out of our fingers and disable our enemies!
