When I was really little I used to wonder if my life was part of a TV show that someone else was watching. As I got older we would go on vacation. By the time we got back to the hotel it would always be late. They didn't have movie channels back then so the only thing on TV was the news. I always thought that my home town was the only place in the world that had regular TV shows. I hated vacations because of that.

I used to think that Sesame Street was filmed in a woodsy area of my neighbor's backyard.

I thought "To Be Announced" was a TV show, because it was sometimes listed in TV Guide.

My ex-husband told me that when he was younger he used to go into the cupboard in the corner of his bedroom and wait for the "shopkeeper" to come and provide him with an outfit, just like Mr Ben. Surprisingly this never happened :-)

When I was younger (4,5 etc) I used to hink that the thunderbird dolls were alive. It was really scary, because I used to think that they were come and kill me or something when they weren't on TV. I was a complete idiot. :s

Mr. Rogers creeped me out. I thought he could see me through the tv. I would hide in my closet to change clothes so he couldn't see me naked.

I used to believe that the people who dressed up in animal costumes on TV shows were real animals, just life sized versions from a magical land.

I used to believe that a "Sitcom" was any live-action comedy show. So, like, Spongebob wouldn't be a sitcom, because it's a cartoon. I also thought that the name meant Sit-Comedy, you would SIT down and laugh and the COMEDY.

Life is not a sitcom.

When I was about 4 I was watching Sesame Street. Someone on the show found a secret passage in a normal looking wall. I looked around and saw the outlets in the wall and thought that they must be keyholes to the secret passages in my house. I stuck a key into the outlet... thankfully it wasn't the heavily charged side. No secret passageway opened, and I was so embarressed at having put a key into it that I made myself pull it out so no one would find out.

I used to believe I was one of the Power Rangers (the pink one) and thought I had her powers. I even bought everything pink to be more like her! Now I hate pink!

There was a cartoon on "Sesame Street" about a bellhop who had to carry 8 steamer trunks down 8 flights of stairs. I've seen this 'toon enough times on YouTube to know that I misinterpreted it badly as a kid, and as a result I used to be scared of it. I used to believe that as he was carrying the trunks (which I mistook for just being mere suitcases), he was falling down the stairs only to a certain floor (the 6th, maybe), and that there was an elevator next to the stairs on that floor that he tried using, only to find out that the elevator didn't work and he fell down the shaft, floor by floor (with each floor labeled a different number.) There was really no elevator and no elevator shaft he fell down, but somehow I didn't think this as a kid.

When I was younger I used to believe that TV shows were happening in real life and then when I heard them say "At 9pm Eastern, 8Pm central" I was very confused as to why when I tried to watch it again at 9 it wasn't on.

I thought the show The Wonder Years was made in the 60's where it takes place (it actually started in 1988)
