i used to think that " when marimaba rythums start to play" was "when my rainbow ribbons starts to play"

: )

I used to believe…

When the song "He Loves U Not" by Dream came out, I thought the line "you can flurt your pretty eyes" was "you can clutch your pretty eyes."

I thought "that's GOTTA hurt."

I used to think that Ashlee Simpson's "Pieces of Me" was "Bestest is Me" and I was all "Mann...she sure is stuck-up."

I used to believe…

My name is Julia and I used to believe that the Beatles song "Julia" was about me! I was so happy when a heard it on a cassette tape... but then I found out that it was about a different Julia.

I guess I didn't think about how it was possible to write a song about me before I was even born.

A country song I heard on the radio, I forget the name of(I think it was "you picked a good time to leave me _____"),When the guy said with 4 hungry kids,I thought he said 400 kids, and my eyes pooped out of my head a the thought of 400 kids.

i dont know what song this was, but there was sometihng like "precious and few are the moments we two can share" and i heard "precious and few are the moments, sweet toucan Cher" i thought of some guy singing it to some female toucan named cher...

i thought the neil diamond song was "kentucky walnut"...and still kind of do....

I thought the line "turning saints into the sea" in the Killers' Mr. Brightside wans actually "dirty sex into the sea."

i used to think in the song "hit me with your best shot" was really "hit me while i'm on pot" yea.... i suck!!

I used to believe Britney Spears was the greatest singer of all time, and wished I could sound like her. I wondered why my recordings on my mini-tape recorder thing never sounded as polished. THEN Alanis Morissette's comeback single came out when I was about 11. Now I wonder how Britney ever made it...and yes I now know about high-tech recording studios, and most people think I'm a better singer than Britney.

Also, I didn't know about miming. Once, S Club 7 were on TOTP I said "They must be standing VERY close to their microphones to sound that much like they do on CD!!!" Welcome, Abbie, to the world of MIMING.

Also, I didn't know that the Carpenters' names were actually Karen and Richard CARPENTER. I always did wonder where they got their band name from.

Now I'm 14 all that's been cleared up, thank goodness!!

HAVE I THE RIGHT By The Honeycombs - 1964

I used to think that the line 'Come right back I just can't bear it I've got a love and i want to share it' was Come right back i just can't bare it I got a loan from a holy sherriff" Very sad.

That 'army' marching song that goes "Wherever we go (wherever we go), People always ask us (People always ask us), Where do you come from? (Where do you come from?)" etc. Well we used to sing it at Brownies and for ages I thought it was "Wherever we go, we think of all disasters". I thought it was about being contemplative about people who'd been affected by wars and things.
My Brownie leader overheard me, cracked up laughing and told everyone, making me look like a fool. I've never really got over it. She shouldn't have been allowed to be a leader....

... "we are living in mama's cereal world.. and I am mama's cereal girl".... sounded good to me. I loved cereal.

When my big sister kindly pointed out to me that it was "material girl"... I thought she was one of those ladies at the fabric counter measuring out yards of material... I didn't like that as much.

I used to believe…

Also, my little sister LOVED the movie Grease, she was the movie's biggest fan... her favorite song was..."you're the thinga-ma-bob!" (instead of you're the one that I want")

I used to believe…

My across the street neighbor (who was about 7 at the time) swore up and down that the words to Travis Tritt's song "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" went "I spilled tea all over you and me"... you couldn't convince her otherwise.

She also thought that song "Mi Vida Loca" by Pam Tillis went "...I take corners onto hills" instead of "I take corners on two wheels" (a little geographically challenged I think) and "it's a never ending circus ride, we know farts need not apply"... instead of "faint of heart need not apply". I suggested she just turn off the radio and never listen again.

My uncle was 100% convinced that "Do the hustle" was actually "eat a hot dog!"... he would walk through my grandma's house disco dancing and belting it out.
