When I was younger, I loved the song "Funky Cold Medina" by Tone Loc. The problem is that when I went searching for the cassette tape at the music store, I was searching for "Turtle Oak" as the artist. I guess teenagers really do have selective hearing.

I always thought Hot Chocolate were singing 'You Sexy PIG' instead of 'You sexy Thing.

I used to believe that my nana and grandad had made up all of the songs they used to sing to me as a child when i was going to bed. Not too long ago, I had my younger sister(who is 10) convinced that Gerard Way, singer of My Chemical Romance, was a girl. Later on she heard me talking to a friend about how I could'nt stand female singers. She was confused girl, it took a while before she'd believe me again.

My Daughter, who is now 6, just reminded me how she used to think and sing the opening song to the show "Seventh Heaven", as "Seven Kevin", since her uncle's name is Kevin.

When my foreign cousin came to visit from sweden, he used to sing the transformer song, but being a foreigner, he wasn't exactly singing the correct lyrics.
"Transformers...more than meets the eyes" was mutated into "Transformers, owneh weensy eyes...otherwise" Now why he stuck the "otherwise" part in always blew me and my brother away...I guess he figured that since he thought he knew the words, he can add his own twist at the end????????

When I was little, I used to come up with pictures in my head whenever I heard a certain song. Well, whenever someone sang "Home, Home on the Range" for some odd reason I would picture a giant toilet with wheels on the bottom of it in the middle of a farm.

Okay, so.. there's this Physechadelic Furs song where the lead singer (who is very Britishy I might add) says "Back in the Government" and I, of course, am listening to this on a cassate tape in a 25 year old car. I can't decipher the lyrics. So I just ask aloud "Okay, am I crazy or is he saying 'Bark I'm a Doberman'. If you sound it out, they're quite similar, I promise.

The shameful part is that I was sixteen at the time. I hear the 'correct' lyrics when I listen to it now.

I used to think and swore that Fleetwood Mac was singing "Lee-Anne Lee-Anne" when it was actually "Rhiannon Rhiannon" to the point where I looked for years for a Fleetwood Mac album with a song called "Lee-Anne"

Since I was 7, 28 years ago, I've been a big Elvis fan. At age 10 I got hold of the Roustabout soundtrack album, and upon hearing the sopng "Poison Ivy League" for the first time, I swore he sang "How can they f**k"...a few years later I realized it was actually "how can they flunk". Thank goodness I never sang that in front of my parents!

I used to believe…

My older brother would put up posters for the rock shows he was going to, and they would say thing like "Dokken, with VERY SPECIAL GUESTS." I thought the Very Special Guests were going to be some huge megastars who showed up to play a set with Dokken and blow everyone's mind. I'd assume it would make the national news the next day. Like "Ace Frehley made a surprise appearance at the Poughkeepsie Civic Center last night with Dokken!!"

But it turned out to just be the warm up band.

There is this old Alan Jackson song called "Chasin' that Neon Rainbow". When I was little, I pictured someone chasing a knee into a rainbow.
