If you've seen the movie Dumbo then you've probally heard the Casey jr. song ( Casey Jr is that circus train ) .
When I was little I thought the lyrics were these :

Casey Jr's coming down the track
Coming Down the track
With a smokeystack
Here the smoke ant coming round the view
Casey scared a thrill
Every Jack and Jill
Everytime is spotty heard the whistle sound
Everybody learns to safeistrack
Time for lemonade and cracker jack
Casey jr's back
Casey jr's back

The real lyrics are these :

Casey Jr's coming down the track
Coming down the track
With a smokeystack
Here him puffing coming round the hill
Casey's here to thrill
Every Jack and Jill
Everytime his funny little whistle sounds
Everybody hurries to the circus grounds
Time for lemonade and cracker jack
Casey Jr's back
Casey jr's back

I read on here that someone misheard the lyrics to Paul McCartney's Mull of Kintyre... I always thought he was singing about a "Mullicking Tyre" I never thought to ask what "Mullicking" was, I guessed that they obviously made tyres, kinda like Michelin?

When I was little my sister was singing the Macy Gray song that goes "I try to say goodbye an i choke, i try to walk away and i stumble". But only since a year ago i had always sung,"I try to walk away and i flamboke!!!" Dont ask me why!?!?!

I used to believe…

there's this commercial that they recently played a lot on cartoon network. It advertises a compilation album of love songs. And my daughter, who watches cartoon network a lot (she's six), was particularly smitten with one song. She'd sing it - or at least the part from the commercial - all the time. And one day she asked me to buy that song for her. "Daddy, I want you to get me Osamio Lady." "Osami lady?" I asked. And then she sang it to me. I recognized it from the commercial, but I realized that I didn't know what it really said either. My girlfriend finally cleared things up for us. The song is "Cause I'm your lady" by Celine Dion.

I firmly used to believe that in the song "Voices carry", they were actually sining 'Mrs. Carrey', and I always wondered why Mrs Carrey got a song.
Later I thought that they said 'This is Gary', so I thought the song was about some person introducing her friend Gary.

I always thought when I was little that in the song Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer when kids add the other lyrics, i.e. Rudolph the red nosed reindeer reindder had a very shiny nose like a lightbulb, I thought I was the one who thought up Like George Washington at the end.

I used to believe…

In the Prince song, Sign 'O' The Times, during the part where he sings 'At home there are seventeen-year-old boys
And their idea of fun', I was concvinced he was actually saying, 'At home there are 17 or so boys, and they are all deformed'

Also, in the Janet Jackson song 'Escapade', listening to it when i was perhaps 6 or 7 and was completely oblivious to the existance of such a word, I would happily sing along 'Nes-Ca-Fe, we'll have a good time, Nes-Ca-Fe, leave your worries behind'

row row row your boat gently down the stream...merrily merrily merrily merrily life's a butter bean.

I was about 10 when I heard the song "Squeezebox" by The Who. I asked my older brother what the lyrics meant, "Momma's got a squeeze box she wears on her chest and when Daddy come home he never get no rest, 'cause she's playing all night, and the music's all right - Mama's got a squeeze box, Daddy never sleeps at night," etc. He told me it was about an accordion. I believed him until I was in college.
