Also a friend of mine was once convinced that the words to 'gangsters paradise' were infact 'and the day has just been top of the pops' instead of 'living in a gangsters paradise.' god only knows...

I thought Maria Carey's 1998 ballad was 'I'd give my arms' instead of 'I'd give my all'.

Firstly one of my own. I used to think (up until not long ago) that the line in the Bee Gees 'How deep is you love' - 'and you come to me on a summer breeze' was 'and you come to me on a submarine'
Now my wifes and I've heard her singing these.
J. Geils band - centrefold - 'My angel on the cellaphone'
Clash. I fought the law - 'I fought the Lord'
The cure - Love cats - The line 'We're so wonderfully wonderfully wonderfully
Wonderfully pretty' translates in her mind as ' one free one free one free one free city'

i still wonder what a uptumstick is and why a baby would have one
i always thought it was a huge weapon so why was he licking it!?!

Ya know that song "Independent women" or something like that by Destinies Child well i always thought it was "the shoes on my feet i garted the clothes im wearing i farted the car im driving i farted cuz i dependent on it!" and for a long time i kept thinking why would you depend on your farts to get you stuff? but then again anyone who make a song called "bootylicious" probably would depend on farting to make them rich.
I used to think ((Like, one week ago,)) that the words to the Green Day song 'American Idiot', went like this:
'Information, nation, hysteria ...'
When it actually went,
'Information age of hyesteria.'
And I still can't tell if they sing 'Calling out to idiot America!'
or 'Going out to idiot America!'.
Heh. I'm stupid. Yep.

When I was young I thought that Jim Carrey and Mariah Carey were married because they had the same last name.
i've been friends with my friend since we were both in diapers. her mom would always listen to music in the car. there was this one song, i dunno who its by, but it goes "goin to the chapel and we're gonna get married". for the longest time, i thought the lyrics went "goin to the checkbook and we're gonna get buried". it wasnt until i went to a wedding reception when i was 13 that my cousin corrected me.
